I think adding an option to re-customize your character look/gender should be an option instead of deleting and re-doing everything, there are no downsides to it I can think of and although I would prefer it be free if it were to come out bungie would most likely charge silver. I would probably still pay as I have wanted to switch my warlock to female for years now but don't want to have to do all campaigns/subclasses/quests again. Even if it were a large sum of bright dust I think it would work.
