Edited by SparkleGuy: 2/7/2023 3:24:25 AMPretty similar thing going on here for me as Sumpig-2. Was playing Destiny since essentially its release and grew up with it, like how some people grew up with halo (I mean, I also kinda did as well, but destiny was my game, you know?). Met fun people, had fun experiences. I'm glad I left, but I definitely don't regret playing. Good memories... But then I got sucked into the Soul games! First one was Sekiro, back whenever I made that post about it a year and a half ago or whatever it was, but then over the summer I played Bloodborne. Played both multiple times. I then got DS2 and 3 over the fall. Beat 2, I like it alright, but not as much as Sekiro or Bloodborne. Played 3 soon after and played that a couple times, currently on NG+2 and have defeated all bosses including dlc. Lots of fun, I love 3. Then I got Dark Souls: Remastered 2 weeks ago, but got sick so only have been playing it for a couple days. Man, people weren't kidding about the cruelty. I'm at the Depths rn, killed Capra Demon. The dogs are the worst part, but at least they aren't the dogs from DS2 or 3, those are just something else. Also, DnD of course. Finally getting my campaign along after making characters with friends and fleshing out the world I'll say this: still spending the same time doing other things than I would be using to play destiny, but I don't feel like it's mandatory or like I have to play. It's now what I want to do and how I would like to use my time.

Edited by Sumpig-2: 2/6/2023 10:40:09 AMI absolutely don't regret quitting, but I also don't regret playing it, because that's how I found the games I play today. I saw Dark Souls 3 on sale for 75% off, and realized $60 for a DLC with a few hours of content wasn't that worth it for me when this game at 19 bucks with DLC lasts almost half a year, gives me actual lasting satisfaction, and has the most beautiful end credits song I've ever heard. Thanks to that I was lead to Bloodborne. My kind of style, the kind of music I like, and a parry system I can understand the timing of. Haven't replayed a game so many times before. I don't even get through NG on other souls games. On Bloodborne I've gotten to at least NG+. (Only thing stopping me from continuing is transferring my game data to PS5. I'm a lazy fella) I enjoyed D2 for a time. But really it was only fun with friends, and they can't always play and neither can I. Instead I found a one pay game that's fun and rewarding whenever I can play. (I am stubborn and hard to rage quit.)
rn I play other RPGs. Got Baldurs Gate 3 cause it works for M1 chips, is a big game even in Early Access (full game comes Aug), and I wanna play DND.
It was dying for me already

I’m on the verge of quitting, definitely not the serious endgame-player I once was. The only thing that keeps me playing the game is my father, we try to play every other day. He doesn’t play anything else, so I play with him a lot.

I’m on the verge of quitting. Essentially what kept me playing was friends to play with. They eventually all disappeared under various degrees of hypocrisy and cowardice, so now I have no one to play it with. I pre-ordered lightfall a long time ago, so I’ll play it. If I don’t find friends to continue destiny with that will probably be the end for me. I have friends that play other games, so I’ll be migrating over there.

Edited by Speaker: 2/6/2023 1:12:13 PMNo I don't regret stopping with Destiny. But that's not entirely honest. I poke my head in occasionally to see what's happening, roll my eyes when I realize it's still the same game. Mostly I miss the fun times I had with the Clan, but I don't miss the grind of the content and I certainly don't miss the story which became far too convoluted for me to even care. There is no good place to jump back in and even if there were- I lost interest. It's one of those old habits i pull out every once in a blue moon, and then put away again when I realize I've outgrown it. I've gotten into the Dark Souls and soulsbourne games since I first played Elden Ring. It's more rewarding an experience imo.

It took me all of about a month of D1 to decide that it wasn’t worth my time, and the only reason I downloaded D2 was to come here. Lately I’ve been playing Papers, Please and Axiom Verge

No, I don’t. I don’t care to play any game that tries to monopolize my time. At the moment, I’ve been jumping between Othercide, Asterigos: Curse of the Stars, Mario Kart 8 DX, River City Girls 2, and Wavetale. Though, I just barely finished The Knight Witch. I also seem to be starting up another Balan Wonderworld kick which happens every now & then. Kirby’s Re-Return to Dreamland and Redemption Reapers come out this month, so I’ll be playing those soon, as well. I’m debating on picking up Shoulders of Giants. Base gameplay looks fun, but it also commits the cardinal sin of Roguelites, and gives you random weapon loadouts, which, ugh.

not really, I think about going back every now and then, but so much content needs to be covered that I dont have the time

The same thing I always play, Pinky.
