Lost Sectors are a waste of time...
Look i'll speak straight with you all,
Lost Sectors are the most infuriating form of Grinding on Destiny,
i can get behind Nightfall weapons and a generalised Exotic farm on nightfalls, and guaranteed exotics on Vendor resets, honestly I don't hate it at all,
But PLEASE Mr Bungo, make the exotic armour grind a little more palatable,
all I can suggest is let focused exotic farming happen in nightfall's on a daily reset, so i can get a LFG'S fireteam together, jump into 1580/1610 Nf's and grind the armour I'd like out to my content,
while this is a simple remedy I think it's an effective way to let people grind things out as they like, while I understand the LS's are there for people who want to run it Solo for their farm, I don't believe those of us that don't mind getting into get in a group and hit the playlists should be punished,
Please, Lightfall is looking to be a great DLC for D2, and some small quality of Life updates like this could help everyone get the most out of Destiny 2 in the way they want to

1 ReplyI think each exotic should get its own lost sector for the day. I'm fairly certain there are enough sectors to support it. So if today is Helmet, then there should be at least 11 different list sectors available, one for each Helmet. Each sector will drop the designated helm for whatever class you're running, (That would be three different helms per sector) minus obviously the few that would be strictly warlock because they have more. Might sound like a lot but I think the more options the better. It's not 2002 anymore. Bungie should have the money and the tech to make a game that not only looks and runs smoother than glass but has a brain that could intimidate the Witness himself.

It’s the inconsistency for me, and the mechanic behind the veil… when I didn’t know you could grind lost sectors for exotics and the first time I did, WOAH. 7-8 exotics in less than an hour. And then I never received drops like that since. Can go HOURS and not see anything at all even, sometimes not even glimmer. If there’s 1 thing I can’t get behind, it’s rewards being doled out differently under certain conditions, just like crucible and the less returns the longer you play. Kinda scummy. It could just be broken I guess but it feels waaaay off.

Easy fix, let rahool focus all Exotic armor. From legendary or master you get an engram, hell even make it a specific one for armor piece, and if its boots and I want a new shot at geomags i can get those specifically. We are focusing everything else, why not. First you have earn it from random drop. Might actually make activity worth the 5 minutes to run, 3 to 4 times per focused engram

16 RepliesI have never had a problem with this at all. Typically, if I have a specific exotic I want, I wait for that day, and I have it within 45 minutes. Why is this a problem?

2 RepliesDestiny in general is a waste of time. Here. It's like this. you spend months, years, getting the best armor mods, getting the perfect god rolls, carefully crafting the perfect build........................ And the game still feels like -blam!- because they've nerfed everything to the point that outside of a very few specific weapons, everything has been nerfed into irrelevance. There was never a point in destiny 1 where I authentically felt like primary weapons felt bad. At this point in the game well there's a reason why people are running double special weapons, it's because nothing else is worth using.

Lost sectors are only good for players who want to unlock missing exotic gear. PERIOD. Do not go farming something as ridiculous as that. Also no, Lightfall isn’t looking great at all. It’s looking ok. If you want to jump from trees to trees you can play Tarzan. This is an FPS. I want content. If I want a grappler I go play RPGs like horizon, assassin’s creed and the likes. Please don’t spread noob like expectations. We’re all mostly here since 9 years soon and we very well know what we’ll get: - 6/8 beautiful story missions that we’ll enjoy only because the Legend mode is now a thing. - 2 strikes - 1 raid And that’s it. The rest is part of the usual seasonal content. We love this game, but don’t act like it’s a content making machine.

They had a great system with Glass Needles. Rerolling armor stats. It takes an extraordinary amount of incompetence to toss out a perfectly fine system like that.

1 ReplyI'm sorry to say this. But you all still don't get it. Whatever the topic discussed on this forum. The game is EXACTLY as Bungie intended. Writing walls fulls of ideas, or suggestions, however good, doesn't matter cause at Bungie nobody cares. The only thing that drives them is profit. The game, such as it is, has been carefully tuned and perfected with one goal and one only: to make them the most money with the least effort. That's how it is and that's how it's ever gonna be. At least as long as ppl keep purchasing. I stopped wasting my time (and hope) when I came to this sad realization. So if you don't like the way things are going, I'd suggest stopping purchasing cause the only thing they will ever listen to is MONEY.

Solution : spread the exotics through all activities and add performance meter for higher drop chance. Let's say we go with this - Each strike has its own exotic (Ostreo Striga for Lake of Shadows, No Backup Plan for Arms Dealer, etc as example) - Each NF has its own exotic - And so on Put performance meter such as completion time, number of deaths, etc where flawless runs can either guarantee an exotic or very high drop chance, encouraging different activities and strive for the best performance with exotic drop as the reward instead of bashing your head on lost sector hoping to get one drop

They need to make it targeted. Having like a dozen helmets available with a 1 in 6 shot of an exotic even dropping is not “targeted”. Bring back glass needles and tie them to lost sectors at the same drop rate

LLS completed on platinum should a guaranteed drop. With the amount of exotics on top of RNG you could farm all day and not get the extra piece and stat distribution you were looking for. Ex. Warlocks have 12 exotic helmets. Add that to poor stat distribution or duplicate drops. This a grind I’d be down for

the only reason to run them is to get the most recent exotic armour release. If you choose to farm them for exotics you are literally beating your head to a pulp.. The item, the roll you are asking way to much from RNG to give you even close to what you want unless you have literally days to grind for it.

Lost sectors are just another half baked idea. Good initiative on Bungies part but absolutely poor execution. Needs about another 45 minutes in the oven, they took it out after 5.

Hahahahahahaha! Destiny 2 is a game that will go down in history as a hollow expensive not overdelivered game. Also known as a recycled waste. Just like you said, a waste. Hahahahahahaha!

I did them during beyond light and they seemed like a great way to get an exotic you didn’t have yet and then an abysmal way of trying to grind for a good roll. I’ve heard the drop rates are worse now so it doesn’t sound worth doing.

2 RepliesSee, i can't get behind the nightfall weapon grind anymore either. Everything besides Grandmaster difficulty is a complete waste of time. Plus those strikes are older than the average age of a destiny enjoyer. Who can still grind those without falling asleep? And GM's are simply not fun. They make you play EXTREMELY passive, you get oneshot by dregs and dregs have more health than calus had. Just poor and lazy "difficulty" design. Nightfalls other than GM's have lower drop rates than 10 %. Getting a random rolled nightfall exclusive weapon approximately every 10th run means you have to invest 2,5 hours for one drop on average. And i am talking about the highest matchmade difficulty. Yes, masters have around a 20 % chance but you have to find a fireteam for those and 1,25 hours for one drop are not worth my time either. If that's "acceptable", then idk why you devalue your limited life time that much.

They should just change the reward to glass needles instead of a specific armor slot. The current method is just not holding up with the increase in armor pieces.

If it sucks and isn't fun, don't do it. That's what I've done for a couple of years now and I don't hate my time spent playing nearly as much.

Yep. We have to many exotics now. It needs to be a generic exotic engram that drops and we need to be able to focus them.
