the witness and what it could be
so the witness is shrouded in alot of mystery rn so I wanted to make some early speculation on its nature and why it almost contradicts the darkness and how
we know that the light can only be given and darkness must be taken that is the nature of these forces but each disciple the witness makes they are not taking darkness from the witness it is giving them their power
this might be out there but what if the witness is a being born from the light
it gives paracausal power to others like the traveller does
its able to takeover and speak through our ghost something we’ve only seen been done by other ghosts EG when sagira shared herself with our ghosts shell in Curse of osiris
it could potentially even raise the dead if its plan with the nezarec remains was to bring him back

I am just confused on if they replaced the winnower with the witness, or if they serve the winnower, or what The Gardner is the source of light, and the Winnower is the source of darkness, but they haven't mentioned the winnower in a long time , I think Arrivals was the last time -

Isn’t the whole darkness must be taken thing what the worm gods told oryx? Might not be wholly true seeing as rhulk says the hive misinterpreted the darkness and calus says this too

2 RepliesWell considering the Ghosts have been hinted at being somewhat part of the Vex network (as stated in Vanilla D1 when the ghost is talking about the Vex network on Nessus. It just seems like the Witness is able to override the ghosts and speak through them like a PA speaker that it has hacked into. Especially since it has only been able to do this in areas with IMMENSE darkness. Its more than likely just a being born from darkness
