Taking a break from developing seasonal content, it seems all throughout this seasonal model thing, every third season sucks. That’s probably because development that should go toward the season goes towards the expansion.
So why not just remove one season from the model and make the last season as long as season of the lost was. Obviously it was tiring then but that was because we were expecting an expansion three months in. What if the season was developed to be that long.
You can do like smaller events throughout the season whether linked to an event or otherwise. Secret missions pop up one week or a new exotic drops. Drop the returning raid in this season since it isn’t connecting to anything else in the story. Give Strikes, Gambit and PvP some TLC every now and then.
Bungie are really keen on shoving as much content down their throats no matter how crap it is. This game’s players are loyal, you don’t need all this content to keep people coming back.
This would all save us the time of consuming a boring season where a lot of effort clearly wasn’t put into it (plunder, worthy, splicer is alright in terms of design and storytelling but was still a bit lacklustre).
Obviously they are not going to see this post and decide to remove a crucial aspect of their money cycle but this is just general feedback on the content we are being delivered due to bungie forcing themselves onto this schedule. Maybe with this Sony money and new office’s they can probably keep good content in the game year round but only time will tell really.
