But unlike Stasis, it appears to be an "impure" manifestation—her words, not mine.”[/b][/i][/quote] Well, Calus did tell us Darkness lives in all things, so if we agree the Fungus is alive just as much as any other being is (even a resurrected one, like guardians) and that the whole point of Beyond Light's Stasis mastery via Elsie teaching us to channel it from ourselves (yes even though at first we required the splinter of darkness as a catalyst to getting a hold of our power at first, like training wheels on a bike if you will) then yeah the shapeless Darkness can be given shape with enough willpower, but my guess as to why the fungus is impure is that it must've been like a "cancer" that has grown and spread across all time and space that the Darkness itself did not will it so (basically like an offshoot growth that wants to be independent but was erroneous from the start, thus propagating it's "infection"... Kinda like Prometeus movie being prequels to Aliens and how originally it was all just some virus they created ... Same with Halo and how the flood was made) compared to how it has willed into existence Stasis (and our new power we got in WQ that lets us make the past, be it an item or place, real again regardless of how much time has passed) At some point maybe the Darkness might want us to deal with the fungus, god forbid they get near the shard of the traveler though, maybe that's how the Witness might corrupt Traveler ? Maybe not directly but by infecting the shard, which then can easily relay / interact with it or maybe remold the Shard into a new form of Pyramid ship that's both Darkness and (corrupted) Light at the same time? Think about it, the shard is huge, it could easily get turned into something new, like Calus told us the fungus was doing to the Leviathan

Don't think it's a coincidence)
