Why do you need to know whats going to happen in a few days ?
Do you need a mental preparation ?
And if thats to see if you will buy it or not, nothing prevents you feom buying it when it releases.
Besides getting spoiled for the sake of being spoiled it doesnt change a damn thing x)

I can tell you now the season isn’t gonna be that great that it needs secrecy
-
And its not going to be an issue to have secrecy or not x)
-
It doesn’t need to be secret at all no reason
-
And also no reasons to tease / do a trailer for something that isnt worth doing so x)
-
You really don’t know how marketing works. It would be in bungies best interest to generate hype even if soemthing is going to be mediocre.
-
They do whatever is right for them. To us it doesn't matter whether there is a trailer or there isn't.
-
They already sold the season pass If they dont do a trailer for a single season weeks in advance its for a reason x)
-
They should be made to give excitement or a taste of what's to come. This whole releasing the same time it actually comes out is beyond stupid. Most people don't like it. Wanna be surprised? Don't watch it. Want to have a taste of what's coming? Watch it. Should be that simple.

Cause you know who wants to see gameplay to see if its worth trying

A trailer for a new game is important. A trailer for a new season in destiny 2 isnt. We all know whats its going to be, we know the content already. What we dont know is the theme. And it feels good to be surprised once per season since they are so predictable everytime.

We know a god of war game is coming out, well we know what the content will include and what its going to be about based on the title. The gameplay is extremely important so we understand what the idea they are setting for the game is. There are players who did “pre-order” the season when they bought the deluxe witch queen, and while they get the season regardless they are marketing to players for them to buy their content. They stopped marketing to dedicated players a long time ago. They should release the trailer now so people can make a decision now if they want to spend $10 on a new season not the day of. Also the seasons are not predictable, the ending to the last 2 seasons (including this one) were unpredictable. Seeing a trailer wont ruin the surprise and guess what buddy, if you wanna keep the surprise then dont watch it. Unless someone is holding a gun to your head making you watch it when it comes out. The idea of suspense is stupid when players who want suspensions wont watch it till the season comes out and players who want to prep wanna see it now to see if its worth their time.

There’s truth in that. However a trailer won’t make the season any better or worse than it already is. You’re talking about Bungie selling season passes. Maybe they sell as many or more with this current model of holding off on the trailer until the day of. Do you really care how many season passes Bungie sells for season 19? Or do you really just want to know what the theme and story is going to be because you’re curious and hate waiting? None of which is going to hurt the product of season 19, ie. the game.

It only provides benefits to release it now rather then the day before

Edited by Spawn Of Apathy: 12/3/2022 6:08:26 AMI never said it would hurt to release the trailer. Do you assume I’m taking the stance that the current plans are best? I’m not. If Bungie released the trailer for season 19 a month ago I wouldn’t be irate. The closest these trailers have had to a spoiler for the previous season would be “oh well I guess Drifter didn’t die”. So no, I don’t think it would hurt the game to release the trailer sooner. I also don’t think it hurts the game to release the trailer the day of the new season. You were trying to make an argument like it is a financial mistake for Bungie not to release the trailer sooner. You don’t really care about that. You just want to see the theme and setting sooner than next week, because you’re impatient and curious. That’s fine to feel that way. You don’t have to act like you’re looking out for Bungie’s bottom line. I’m sure they’re looking over that plenty.

Edited by Gilgamesh: 12/3/2022 7:19:16 AMIm saying from a financial perspective its better for players, if people who dont own the season already watch the trailer and enjoy it they may save $10 for said season. Overall they dont make tons of money off seasonal purchases like that as their money cow is cosmetics. What im stating as well is that there are people who say “well its suspenseful” as a argument when in reality no one is forcing anyone to watch a trailer. And seeing whats going to be presented in a product I purchased as I do own that season from buying the deluxe edition is something i kinda am owed by consumer practice laws (when you purchase a product all included content must atleast be worked on and be in a presentable state, you can watch videos on the Doom Eternal OST situation to understand better what im talking about) There are a plethora of reasons why i should see this trailer sooner yet Bungie waits till the last possible moment just for a small amount of players who want a suspenseful release when these players dont have to watch said trailer till the day the season releases. Honestly had i seen this trailer sooner maybe i would have cared to get ready for the season but i could give 5 -blam!- less about it since idk if im interested than logging in day 1 to collect my exotic at rank 1 (When i say I i am speaking as a consumer, not saying i myself am owed a private viewing gotta specify this)
