Lots of the new exotic armor pieces are great, but it’s extremely frustrating that you can only get the new stuff from a single activity that only has a chance at giving you what you want on a specific day. I really don’t want to spend hours of my time doing Master Lost Sectors solo just to be rewarded with exotics I already got in Year 1, low stat purple or blue gear, or absolutely nothing at all.
Back in D1, it was exciting to get exotics because they were rare and could be obtained from anywhere in the game, so you were randomly rewarded for simply doing what you liked and felt lucky. I really want to see D2 have that feeling again.
You can still have Master and Legend Lost Sectors as a system so people can target specific pieces, but don’t have them be the only method of getting the only new exotic armor pieces. It adds unnecessary FOMO to the game and is just not a fun system overall because
1. They are not fun to grind out
2. They have low drop rates
3. They have a bloated and unrewarding loot pool, even with the specific slot focus
4. They’re restricted to a daily lockout, which is incredibly inconvenient for people who want an armor piece, but don’t have the time to play for it that day. It also makes it literally impossible to earn certain exotics on most days of the week
At the very least, cycle out older exotics into the world loot pool and have the latest ones featured in the Lost Sectors. Keeping them locked behind LS is pointless, especially since they’re added to the world pool anyway after you earn them the first time.
-
Uhh, they go into the world loot pool after you unlock them for the first time. The only reason to do lost sectors after unlocking is to farm for specific slots.
-
Guaranteed loot is my favorite loot.
-
They just need to be heavily weighted as repeat drops for the season in which they release. If they won’t let us reroll exotic armor, this is what they need to do.
-
Nope it’s good. You realize it’s pretty much a guarantee on a master lost sector. Right? Once you get it then it’s put into your world loot pool. Imagine leaving a new exotic up to RNG in the world loot pool. No thanks!

Do 5 take a break then retry

I agree. I left this game a little over 3 years ago and came back out of boredom. This “new” exotic system is trash. It makes me only want to play every 4 days when what I’m looking for is up just to find I have to run something g annoying 12-14 times before an exotic drops, and probably not what I wanted. No reason to play the off days.
-
'They're not fun to grind', and that is where you're messing up. LS aren't meant for grinding. They are meant just to get the new exotic for that season, so it gets placed in your world loot pool. Like you're asking. Which is why the new way has been the best way in the franchise to get new exotics. After you get it in your loot pool, then grind other methods for exotics like nightfalls.
-
When it comes to the new season exotic, I've never had to do more than 4 lost sectors before I got it, however farming for an older exotic that you want is painful. Sector shouldn't really take more than 5 mins (especially if its a hunter/titan piece) - their arc kit is outrageous
-
The problem with this is that people complained that exotics being in the world loot pool meant you never knew when you'd get one, and there was no way to work toward getting one with purpose. People wanted a purpose-driven method of grinding for exotics. That being said, the issue still lies with Bungie. They almost always "fix" things by making them worse. We still need a game development studio to invent something better than RNG. It's lazy and unimaginative, and there has to be a better way to deal with loot.
-
Yeah, I have grown tired of getting the new exotics in the lost sectors. I’ve spent the last couple days getting caught up (got 5 gauntlets yesterday, and down to 2 helmets and 2 chestpieces). It’s not even hard, it’s just tedious. I don’t think they should immediately go to the world pool. Exotic engrams have previously guaranteed to drop gear your haven’t collected, so it would be too easy to keep exotic engrams from the previous season pass to instantly get the new exotics. Instead, I would like to have exotics transition to the world loot pool after a season. That way, if there is a strong new exotic, then you can go after it in the lost sectors. But, if you don’t want/need it right away, just wait a season and get it from an engram.
Please put Lost Sector exotics into the World loot pool
Then how would Bungie control you on how to play the way they want you to play? See, when Lost sectors were requested years ago to be more useful than they were this is what Bungie came up with for a "solution". Having the exotics drop as they did in D1, not all of them but quite a few that were worth acquiring gave players more of an incentive to play most of the content in D1. You had more options in D1 and more freedom to use what you wanted to use, not what Bungie is controlling you to use in D2.
-
Maybe just have them be lost sectors for the first season of release, after that they can drop from anything that drops exotics. Or just let you be able to do it with more than one person so you can at least have someone to talk to while you're joylessly grinding your lips on sandpaper.
-
Maybe it isnt "fun" but for me last sectors work great, got all my missing Exotic gear from doing legend lost sectors. Got them all now, and it takes 3 to 5 runs to get a Exotic (give or take)

Edited by GMDeece7: 11/3/2022 12:57:13 PMWhen you earn an exotic from a lost sector once, they ARE in the world loot pool. It usually just takes me a single master run to get an exootic. Getting it a second, third, or more times is when it becomes incredibly difficult, as my rng for targeting certain exotics is awful in nightfalls, lost sectors, and world drops (to give you an example, i had to sit with a 48 stat renewal grasp until this season (And even then, all the renewal grasp exotics i got never have more then 16 discipline, despite me using a discipline focusing ghost mod).
-
1) don't do masters, do legend instead, you'll get more runs in per hour at not much lower drop rate. 2) you're not getting exotics you already have before ones you don't yet have. It'll only drop exotics you already have if you already have everything it can drop that day. 3) just another example of people wanting to be handed everything these days and not put a small amount of effort in for it.
-
I believe a master lost sector should be a guaranteed drop upon platinum completion. With the amount of exotics we have paired with rng it will still take forever to get the exact piece along with stat distribution we are hoping to get.
-
Unlocking exotics via LS puts them in the world drop pool. The only thing I'm not too sure about us whether it has immediate effect on the seasonal exotics.
-
We really need to love the older ones from Light fall to world loot pool. It’s just too cluttered now.
-
You really don't want spend time that gives you an increased chance to get the exotic you want and would rather have it as a world drop which would greatly increase the chance of you never getting it to drop? Why? So you can create another post complaining about not getting the exotic you want?
