Question and proposal about glaives.

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask this, but I have a question. In the 4/21/2022 TWAB, dmg04 mentioned that glaives would be able to interact with the exotic perks of armor pieces like the Winter's Guile, for example; however, these changes have not been implemented into the game. I understand that the Necrotic Grips and Karnstein Armlets have been recently updated to work with glaive melees, but I'd just like to know if the team is working on this, if they have decided to go back on this decision, or my game is just bugged. Thank you.

  • One of the biggest sins was not allowing Nezarec's Whisper to trigger Extrovert off melee kills. Like what were they so worried about? You try to poke everything to death in harder content and you'll get smashed. It would be good for Legend at best.

    • Yeah unfortunately it looks like its just a matter of itll happen when it happens. Another example is glaives and the descent/omnioculus smoke bomb recharge. If you arent holding a glaive and descent invis teamates, youre refunded melee charge. If you ARE holding a glaive and descent invis teamstes, no melee charge is refunded. However using the melee recharge dodge while holding a glaive WILL give you your smoke bomb charge. TLDR; bungie makes new thing, thing doesn’t really work right, bungie fixes it a year or two later 🫠

      • They only work on necrotic, karnstien, and acd/o. They didn’t update anything else yet.

Just gotta wait, it seems. I'm glad we got the ones we have, though. It looks promising imo.

They said they intend to do more, but never gave a timeline or mentioned exotics that flat buff melee damage. winters gives 600% dmg buff at 5 stacks. Glaives would beyond overpowered with that. And even if they do intend on doing that, you should still try to be patient. There is only one single person at bungie who works on glaives, and they're troublesome to code.

      • I haven't heard anything about them going back on their decision nor that they've implemented it on other exotics yet, so I would infer that they haven't implemented them yet.
