Warlocks got shafted again in Arc 3.0

https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/51678 TL;DR Hunters got 7 paragraphs of info, a new super, and 3 new abilities Titans got 8 paragraphs of new info, no new super, and 7 new or reworked abilities Warlocks got 5 paragraphs (the least), 2 new abilities (the least), no new super (tied for the least), and their ionic traces is has now been ripped out and given to everyone. Honestly, I'm getting kinda tired of being shafted every time a new thing is announced. Chaos Reach still sucks. Stormcaller was combined and it sounds "better" on paper, but ask yourself, where was stormcaller ever useful to begin with? It's been a dead super for years, useful only in queenswalk when you're playing with LFG groups who can't kill enemies. Oh, but ionic blink and landfall together makes it better, you might say. Lol, there's nowhere to use it. Nobody needs add clear in lesser activities. Wading into a cloud of enemies in Master/GM level activities is still gonna get you killed, and it doesn't do any appreciable damage to bosses. It'll still be super easy to counter in PvP (and gambit if you try to use it as an invader) because its damage resistance is among the worst (I believe golden gun is the worst, but golden gun has range and OHK capabilities and stormcaller does not). Stormcaller is a tool without a job. No one needs it for anything. Chaos Reach was mentioned literally one time as an acknowledgement of its existence, so I'm not very confident that it'll get the buff it needs to be competitive. Imagine spending 7-9 seconds in a super and doing less damage than a 1-2 second thundercrash or a 3-4 second orpheus rig tether. Thanks for nothing. Goemags are already dead, so that's a super without a good exotic. Hunters get a cool new super to play with and Titan mains prove that death threats actually work with their new intrinsic "basically Twilight Garrison with some modifications" ability called Thruster. Titans and Hunters have a lot of new and reworked stuff to look forward to. What to Warlocks get? *checks notes*, an arc soul that'll shoot 1% faster, a slide melee that will 100% get you murdered in a GM, and Electrostatic Mind, an ability that will only be useful for dropping ionic traces for the more powerful hunters and titans in the party. Honestly, this sucks. Another 3.0 refresh, another giant dose of lame crap. It's dawnblade 3.0 all over again. I don't know why Bungo thinks that warlocks are happy with nova bombs and throwing grenades inside of a well when everyone is clearly asking for the same treatment hunters/titans got (new supers, reworks to how subclasses work). If you're a warlock main, you might as well change now. When the next subclass comes out, we're going to get shafted there too. Four FULL subclass reworks in 18 months, and warlocks STILL don't have a SINGLE DPS super that competes with orpheus rig tether, thundercrash with chest piece, blade barrage (with star eaters), and golden gun (celestial nighthawk or stareater scales). What did we get? More add clear, in a game where add clear is dummy easy. GG Bungo, thanks for nothing. I can't wait for your metrics people to be like "why isn't anyone playing warlock anymore". This is why. Arc 3.0 isn't a "rework", it's a mass nerf so your 50% hunter player base can feel even more powerful than they already are (and they'll comment and say some fake -blam!- BS like "we get shafted" when they literally don't).

 • Warlock main...and no we didn't get screwed over.
The Warlock’s whole thing is that being amplified modifies their abilities; it powers them up,” said Dunn. “For Ball Lightning, if you're amplified, the Arc ball will fly out and zap enemies three times instead of just the normal one time, so you can get more damage out of it. For Chain Lightning it chains to more targets.” More specifically, while normal Chain Lightning creates a single set of chains that bounce between a set of number of targets, when amplified, the ability creates two sets of chains, and can potentially jump to twice the number of enemies. Three Aspects will be available for Warlocks: Arc Soul: The Warlock casts a rift to create an Arc Soul that will assist the player in battle. Allies who pass through the rift will also earn an Arc Soul. The rift charges faster when allies are near. While amplified, any Arc Soul you have or gain is supercharged, increasing its rate of fire. Lightning Surge: The Warlock activates their melee while sliding to transform into a ball of lightning and teleport forward, calling down a field of lightning bolts at the exit point that jolts targets. Electrostatic Mind: Arc ability kills and kills on Arc-debuffed enemies create Ionic Traces. When you collect any Ionic Trace, you become amplified.
Like they say in the jewelry business: Nice things come in small packages. 1. The only thing that Arc Warlocks ever needed was a POWER boost. "Amplified" gives this too us in spades. 2. Not only does it give us "Blind" and "Jolt"...it also increases the power of our abilities. 3. We get access to the grenades that Titans and Hunters have, which are arguably better than those for Warlocks. 4. Arc Soul gets a rate of fire increase when Amplified. 5. Lightning surge sounds like its an "area-of-effect Shoulder Charge" for Warlocks, which is a whole new line of abitlites. 6. (And the best for Last) Ionic Trace. Get arc-ability kills, you get amplified. Combine it with Crown of Tempests and it also increases the recharge rate of your abilities, giving you more changes to become/stay amplified. As well as increase the duration of your super. Which you can then synergize with elemental wells and Charged with Light to increase your weapon damage and performance in tandem with Amplified. or you can even bring out the Seraph weapons and warmind Cells (assuming they syngergize with the chaining effects of other abilities. The limits are only those of your imagination.
