On Tuesday next week, I am 98% sure I will be switching mains to a Hunter or Titan. The class balance and identity has gone out the window. Basically all classes are technically space wizards.
After what they did to Solar Warlock, there is genuinely no point in being a Warlock. They are much slower and have arguably the worst class ability in the game (PvP).
Calling it now, Arc Strider is going to break people. Watch how fast complains rack up.

Edited by kellygreen45: 8/20/2022 12:48:03 PMBye. You’re still going to have to buildcraft regardless of which class you play. Grass isn’t greener….

I already started using my hunter today, Im actually considering deleting my warlock after all these years. I left destiny 1 because warlocks got nerfed to the ground, now its happening all over again only warlocks aren’t getting nerfed, they are losing identity and any uniqueness tied to them. So far im having a blast playing my hunter, I gotta re do the whole witch queen campaign but its a breeze due to the invisibility. I cant wait to use the solar, I hear its even better for hunters when paired with calibans hand

Welcome to the dark side, where all hunters roam and rule!!! …. Insert evil 😈 laugh fallowed by crackling thunder and lightning off in the distance. But seriously, I hope Arc 3.0 will be fun and balanced for all classes. Looking forward to next Tuesday.

You turn into a lethal ball of lightning as movement ability in YOUR MELEE SLOT. You can break that Regen. You're the most privileged class, it's insane how dissonant and terrible warlock mains are at their own class. As a hunter, j make it a point to study potential warlock builds, since I struggle against warlocks and their oppressive builds the most.
-
The idea that our aspects include a slide melee is insane. Like, that's an aspect for any other class. Who's going to blow a whole aspect slot on a freaking niche melee ability?
-
Warlocks dominate the game for years Warlock mains: 😐 Warlocks currently have two of the best three subclasses in the game and it isnt even close Warlock mains: 😐 Warlocks get one bad subclass Warlock mains: Im switching to hunter!!!😡
-
Good lord, if something like this is gonna make you change classes then you were never a warlock main to begin with.
-
You're complaining now.
-
Solar warlock has the most dps in the game
-
man doesnt know the power of phoenix protocol, sunbracers, etc
-
Void for Warlocks is one of the best classes!

Edited by PapaSohan: 8/18/2022 3:17:02 PMDude, these forums were on fire complaining about Solar 3.0 week 1. Then everyone figured out how to build it properly and everyone realized solar 3.0 was ridiculously strong. Seriously, y'all need to stop overreacting. It's ok to state the things you might be worried about, but keep an open mind. Edit: to be clear, yes, all classes are space wizards. We've all been using space magic for 8 years now.

The only things Warlocks really have left is Shadebinder's top-tier freezing capability in endgame content. Aerial gameplay is, for the time being, dead, while healing builds are thoroughly unwieldy, awkward and more unenjoyable than ever. Voidwalker went from largely using Devour and little else to..........largely using Devour and little else. I have no doubts that Stormcaller will still be good, but it's very disappointing to see its best parts being given to everyone else. Ionic Traces and chain lightning are available to all classes; so too are Storm Grenades, which even get buffed into a mini-Super by a Titan aspect. Blink could have been buffed years ago, but it's only being changed because Hunters (the reason it was nerfed in the first place) are getting it back. Chaos Reach is a husk of a Super nowadays and it's still reliant on Geomags to have any value whatsoever, but the only word of change was Stormtrance getting both of its existing abilities at once. Arc Soul being an Aspect is exactly what I expected, but I didn't think they'd do it in a way that also devalues Getaway Artist i.e. Arc Soul can overcharge itself naturally. Everything is riding on how good Lightning Surge is. Currently, it sounds like an Arc version of Sunbreaker's Consecration, which no one uses. Teleporting into the middle of a group of enemies doesn't sound very appealing for endgame content, so it had better be hard-hitting - remember that Consecration has Ignition built into it, for a very large chunk of damage.

Unless getaway artist stacks with amped arc souls, or the amped melees are somehow secretly amazing I’m likely playing Titan. At least for the first few weeks. I’ve just finished getting them up to light and prepped as far as exotics and stuff go. Arc Warlock had such potential, but Bungie missed it. The new aspect was the nail in the coffin for me. Bungie took chain lightning (arc warlocks whole thing) and gave it to everyone without giving warlocks a way to excel at it. I was hoping for maybe a long ranged precision thunderbolt charged melee, or maybe a cast rift to emp nearby enemies or arc weapon final blows summon a lightning strike at that location (a weak one like Thunderlord’s…) Idk, just not this. Hopefully I’m just overreacting and it’ll be like void hunters or Solar titans where everyone thought they’d be weak but they turn out to be pretty strong. We’ll see though…
-
I just love how it took giving Hunters blink to finally buff it. They didn’t give it a single thought to it for Warlocks in Void 3.0 since there was an exotic to make it useable. Yes, warlocks will also receive the buff which is wonderful but it’s just pretty funny lol

Remember when everyone complained about Solar 3.0 and it ended up in some of the strongest builds in the game? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
-
same bro just tired of this every DLC every season hoping for better changes in Warlock hoping for improvement just to see it going to other classes
-
Pretty sure arc soul will still be OP, probably even more so and will dominate pvp.
-
When I switch classes I never feel the need to announce it. At least other people crying about a class not being the way they want they owned what they were asking for. Hard to take this weird passive aggressive approach seriously.
-
Best attitude to have mate, exactly what I do, whichever season I think x class looks better I main that for that season I was warlock void, titan solar, I'm going hunter arc because it looks like a fun class
-
Skill issue
-
It’s really too early to tell. I’ve been a warlock main since d1 beta, and it does sound pretty crappy for arc warlock. Arc has always been my least favorite subclass for warlocks, and I was really looking forward to 3.0. Now it sounds better than it was, but completely outclassed by both hunter and titan. But let’s wait and play around with it before we pass judgement.
-
These changes will show who the true Warlock community is. You jelly pessimists won’t be missed.
-
So you’re a fake Warlock main gotcha lol
-
The warlock stasis nerf while titan and hunter weren’t touched for 6 months is what did me in. I don’t find these changes as offensive as I did solar. At least with arc we all kinda expected it to be about chaining and building up charge. With solar they saw that literally one class had “healing” in solar and they turned everyone’s new solar identity to “Well of Radiance slave” whenever you put on solar.
-
I just can’t believe some of you are as torn up about some of these things as you say you are. Some of the complaints are absolutely ridiculous. It’s like some people just can’t wait for new news (good or bad), so they can just jump on bungie. Last weeks twab? It was decent. This app STILL found something to complain about? Why? It’s just a game?
