A Guardian Throne World in Lightfall

The prophecy in the raid states “The Hive and the Scorn love the darkness and worship the Witness. The fleet will enter earth and stop the guardians. The Witness will commune with the Traveler and drink the Light. The Witness will kill (X).” I think X is the tower and conversely the city. Which would leave humanity without a city and place to call home. Maybe in the process of trying to fight the Witness in Lightfall, we and our ghost potentially die. But not permanently. Because we have destroyed godlike entities like Oryx, Riven, and more recently Rhulk(who’s theoretically supposed to be 100x stronger than Oryx), we grew stronger possibly through the Sword Logic. And by communing with the darkness, (not necessarily the Witness as darkness is a neutral force much like the light) we made making a throne world (like Mara) a reality. Maybe in this Throne world we also learn to use the 2nd darkness subclass. Maybe this Throne World is shaped like the Last City (and the D1 tower as the social space) as it was our home for a long time, making it possible for humanity to live inside of it. This is just an idea that I had, what are your thoughts on such a prospect.

  • Considering it's based on the power from slaying other powerful beings, we'll have a Throne UNIVERSE whenever that happens.

  • Good thing we routinely shatter Gods and their petty little "prophecies." If we can kill you, and turn you into a weapon, we will.

Here's what I think. "The Witness will kill [X]" The glyph for kill can mean many things, such as DESTROY. There is no glyph for the Last City or NPCs like Ikora, Zavala, Mara Sov, or Eris. There is a glyph for Earth. "The Witness will DESTROY Earth." The Witness is going for the double-tap he moves on us to kill the Light. Remember the visions of the future lore card from Vault of Glass. A massive fleet of ships hastily assembled looking for a new home making jumps through space, some left behind.

    • You won't get a throne world but you will get a...
CAPITOL SHIP! That you can obviously slightly customise at Eververse for the low low price of $50 :).
• If it reflects the mind as other throne worlds to, it'll have a Menagerie and a Tribute Hall, the og umbral engram decoding and a mini traveller of my own - it's what my guardian would want.

      • <I think the empty sigil represents someone unknown to us. I think communing with the Traveler and draining its Light will kill it, and I think the City will be absolutely shredded in the process, but there might be someone else that isn't just a God-being inside the Traveler. After all, who's the interior for?>

        • I think it’s the tower. Only because the symbol is not used and it makes sense.

        • Or as per the ending of corridors of time, X could be referring to.. us.

          • i really dont think the X stand for the tower. It must be something/someone far more important than the tower. The tower is not important at all in the in the grand scheme of things. Look how easy it got replaced after D1.

          • What if the blank symbol isn’t actually blank, and is actually meaning “Witness kills everything.” Since that’s what his ultimate goal is, and that he himself said that the Traveler’s heart is the key. Perhaps he drinks the light from its heart, and uses the combined power of the Darkness and the Light to hit the delete button on everything.

            • Savathun will definitely return, she technically isn't dead if her cowboy ghost still remains. So the Witness will kill Savathun would make sense since she'll still have the loyalty of her followers even after being revived once more.

            • I just wanna see more oldschool Black Garden maps or zones, they had the most mystic scenery when exploring imho.

              • Not our own, but Savathûn's Throne World will be where the Last City & Traveler is transported to during Lightfall.
