Took my 12 year old niece through her first raid today. Her one question I could not answer was what is the temperature in Atheon's throne room... Pls Help

Ignore all planet based answers. People with bare skin have been able to endure severely prolonged exposure to the Vault without adverse affects. Meaning it has to be temperate. I’d go with room temperature. To expand, so you can wow her. The Vault of Glass is a throneworld style pocket dimension that they control. It’s the hub of the entire Vex Network. As a throneworld, they were able to set the rules of how reality operates inside of it. They used it to make the Network. How they got it is unknown. It’s what allows them to bridge the past, present and the future. At the cost of not being able to change anything. If she asks about time travel, Elsie Brays Dark Future lore is the only known instance of proper time travel to change things.

Presumably cold, I spend a lot of time underground as I'm a geoscientist and as we don't really portal anywhere till the final encounter it's safe fo assume it's quite chilly, not completely but it's about as noticeable as walking into an air conditioned room from a hot day outside It would depend on the average temperature of the surface of Venus, it would be a significant fraction of it

1 ReplyDepends on how hot and steamy it gets when everyone is having vex

Well, there is Acidic Vapors and pools on Venus so too in the Vault, it's a Humid Climate, and I think the Temperature may go down. Soooo, I think cold.

Edited by KannibalKlown: 11/28/2021 6:17:35 AMWhatever the writers decide. Venus is unlikely as hot in the game as in real life. Venus is insanely hot and high pressure in real life, but in the game the Traveler terraformed it to the point that humans were just living there without the need of tunnels or special domes. We see ordinary buildings with ordinary doors, And a lot of vegetation. So. I doubt we can use the real planetary temperatures to give us an idea of what it’s like inside the raid. As for really really cold? I don’t know any lore statements off the top of my head that would state it being darn cold. So. My guess is temperate. We don’t see any evidence of insane heat or insane cold inside so I’m just going to guess human comfortable.

Colder than a polar bear's toenails.

1 ReplyThat is actually a really good question, instincts are telling me it would be cold but at the same time it's literally called the "vault" of glass so id imagine there wouldn't be much ventilation, especially with all the explosions and gunshots that'd be happening Logic wise it would make sense for it to be very hot cause Venus is the hottest planet (according to a quick Google search) especially with the glass being a sort of magnifyer for it so it's safe to assume it would be hot, very VERY hot lol
