Sbmm isn't the awnser. The problem is Bungies straight incompetence in Balencing a lobby. Here's what the stats of the average Lobby of 6v6 Control looks like based off current God awful Lobby balancing. Me:2.48. Opponent One: 1.5 T1:1:15 Opponent two: 1.4. T2: 0.94 Opponent three: 1.25 T3: 0.8 Opponent Four: 1.0 T4: 0.7. Opponent Five: 0.96 T5: 0.55. Opponent Six: 0.5 4/5 worst players on 1 team is not only not fun for the lesser skilled but for the "best player". It's such an easy fix and won't change que times and keep low pings. Good players shouldn't be punished Bungie and neither should the worst players in the lobby. The lobby Balence should be this. Me:2.48. Opponent One: 1.5 T1:1:25 Opponent two: 1.4. T2: 1.15 Opponent three: 1.0 T3: 0.94 Opponent Four: 0.96 T4: 0.8 Opponent Five: 0.7 T5: 0.55. Opponent Six: 0.5 Look how much more balanced when the best player doesn't get 4/5 worst players. The kds each line are almost identical without sbmm and keeping cbmm. So people are not teleporting around. Games without high kd outliers will be significantly more competitive. It would be a win for everyone playing.

  • They should just revert it back to how it was before lobby "balancing". Wasn't a thing when beyond light started. Wasn't even a thing in season 13.

  • You know what would really help lobby balancing: SBMM When the skill gap between best and worst is smaller, the lobby balance isn't as big a deal. Despite all the other complaints that the top-tier players made about SBMM, there were almost no complaints about lobby balance. Now, it's one of the biggest complaints from top-tier players.

  • No, just no. Do you understand that under SBMM there are ranges of skill, there is no MM on earth that can compose a match of players with the exact same skill. There are tiers of players. If you just remove the 10% who are supposedly wrecking your lobbies, you still have players in the lobby who are considerably better. Given This fact, explain how putting all of the best players on a one team “isn’t a big deal”? The fact of the matter is, the SBMM vs CBMM argument hasn’t produced ANYTHING POSITIVE. It’s time to discuss this MATCHMAKING’s proclivity to set up matches that are a stomping in one direction or the other.

  • Exactly. SBMM sounds good on paper, but fails hard in practice. I don't know what kind of mm they have now but it's game after game of trying to carry teams of thumbless oompa loompas vs teams of mostly competent players. When the bottom guy on your team ends the match with a 0.13 kdr and you see he's rocking some -blam!- auto rifle and a bow on twilight gap AND he captured 1 zone, it boils the damn blood.

  • Yes no one played during sbmm. Your solution hurts majority of the players. My solution benefits everyone without extending que times or increasing lag. Your idea is to punish people mine is to balence the lobby. Your being stubborn and want people to quit the game more than they do now. I just want even teams without increased que times or latency.

  • I played a lot during the short SBMM period. And experienced no connection issues along with it. And had a fun time. I am wondering based on which data all these claims are made who played/plays what or not and whether others enjoyed or not. I guess most people just generalize from their own subjective experience. The only stakeholder being able to assess the situation is Bungie cause they own all the data. They are also the only ones who could ask their clients by conducting surveys and polls.

  • Punishing people because it makes it better for you makes you a bully. Lobby balancing doesn't change the fact that there will be someone with an 8.0+ in each match because the top players don't like 'sweaty' games. Us lower players will play sweaty games 100% of the time because at least they are fun.

You're like nope your a bully everyone should be punished with sbmm long que times and lag because I'm too selfish and incompetent to understand anything.... The mass majority doesn't want sbmm.   • Sbmm is only ever coming back if we get dedicated servers. P2P with sbmm is unbearable and borderline unplayable with how bad lag is in this game. I rather get rolled playing against better players that I could actually fight back against, than not been able to play the game against 6 lag lords with packet loss immortality.

  • It’s still borderline unplayable with the connection based matchmaking, seriously cannot get sbmm or cbmm right. Still go against laggy teleporting people when I have gigabyte wired internet. I don’t know the solution, but maybe if bungie invested more in their pvp they could find one.
