It's not a stretch to say that when you play as one of the titans light subclasses that you've already played as the others as well.
Each subclass has a tree focused on dealing substantial damage with your melee.
Each subclass has another skill tree focused entirely around keeping you alive and bolstering your neutral game.
And each subclass has a tree focused around hitting hard with your supers or abilities.
All of them are fine in use, but none of them genuinely stand out as something UNIQUE.
When you look at the other 2 classes, each of their subclasses has substantial diversity when compared to one another.
Do they always get it right when they do it, no they do not, but theres still value in offering a new playstyle.
Top tree dawnblade offers superior air control and utility for pvp but lacks ad clearing.
Bottom tree dawnblade (now) has good ad clearing capabilities because enemies will detonate and burn nearby enemies to spread the damage, with very limited aerial control.
Top tree sunbreaker is focused on supplying a buff with solar ability kills and to kill adds with the super.
Bottom tree sunbreaker...is focused on supplying a buff with solar ability kills and to...kill adds with the super.
One obviously shits on the other, but still the point is there.
Top tree sentinel is used to supply health and overshields on your charged melee and to give you buffs while that overshield is ready, with a super to buff and protect your allies.
Middle tree sentinel is used to...supply health and ability regen on all of your abilities and clear adds...with a super to buff and protect your allies.
A lot of overlap here though the supers being used differently is a plus.
I already see great potential with sentinels rework and I hope that it will truly set itself apart not just within the titans subclasses, but across the board.

Could be! We know they are adding at least one brand new ability (shield toss melee) to void
-
I want them to make ward of dawn a subclass all by its self. I dont understand why they made that subclass have 2 abilities.
-
i agree. Titans feel very boring to play (for me at least) because all they are is punch in four different flavors.
-
I’m still a bit ill about Titans only having TWO single-use supers, compared to hunters having 3 and warlocks having 3 (counting Chaos Reach) Also, don’t try and tell me that Behemoth isn’t just Striker with a Breath Mint. I still can’t understand why a DEFENSIVE subclass has 2 aspects that require you to sprint. It just doesn’t make sense!
-
I want titans to feel powerfull agian, its kinda dumb to see all their classes now besides Thundercrash just get absolutely -blam!- on by pretty much every other class or by one stasis hunter crutch dive. The mobility of titans has always been a huge hot topic issue but that's what litterally makes hunters and warlocks good to use in pvp, air mobility and hunters jumping and dodge mobility so like?

Edited by Centaur-1: 10/4/2021 7:43:53 PMThat’s the beauty of a titan. They’re simple but consistent and they get their job done better than anyone, compared to hunters having a subclass with “gun” in the name and being 90% knives! But I admit that I think the team could have gotten a lot more creative with behemoths.
-
I think they’re fine.

Ok. So tell me the difference between 3 arcstaffs that all work the exact same ways. At least sentinel has bubble and ward and the add clear. Hunter has way less diversity. Arcstaff all works the same. Every gunslinger path is also close to the same. Middle void is the most useless thing to ever exist in PVE and needs a huge rework.

Bottom dawn was always good at add clear. In fact, it was nerfed a year ago, and was still one of the best.

I’m not holding my breath. Their initial announcements seemed pretty underwhelming. Things can change from now to then though.

what is your idea of a frontline warrior?

I would say this is a valid point. I have recently made the switch to Titan main in PvP from Hunter just for the sake of mixing stuff up. Initially I was having loads of fun but as I started moving through the different classes to try everything out, I realised that it felt like I was barely changing anything other than the colour of my UI. (Slight hyperbole of course). I totally add my vote to a bit of diversity between the Titan classes.
-
I would love to see all the different elements mixed around. Imagine having a titan bubble but its not void? Each element has a different purpose. Arc could have reload speed with arc bullets, fire could do dot damage and increase..I dont know, something! Ha. Probably won't happen, but still fun to think aboit.
-
I would say all the Y1 sub classes, regardless of class, feel too similar and boring. Arc strider is probably the worst. The supers are virtually identical and the only difference revolves around the melees
-
Well maybe it's just because as much as I love my titan I don't play it as much as hunter but I really really like light based titan classes already. I can be a -blam!- missile, captain America or hold it to have my lil safety bubble and let's be honest flaming hammers large or small is just plain fun haha
-
As a Hunter, and the once Rat King, I hope they just let us keep our invis.
-
Titans literally have some of the best subclasses in the game. For example compare spectral to Titans middle or bottom tree void in pvp. In pve they now do golden guns Job better and after the changes bubble is better than well assuming your not incompetent. Whenever bungie makes a class op it’s never enough and soon after you see that class demanding more. Get a grip.

The only thing I love about warlocks is how many different play styles they offer, like a jack of all trades.
