There are no accounts on bungie.net, just profiles. Profiles are accessed by linking a PSN, XBox, Stadia, Twitch, or Steam account to the profile. To access the profile you log in using the credentials from one of these accounts. If you forgot a log in you did not forget a Bungie.net log in, you forgot a PSN, XBox, Twitch, Steam or Stadia log in. Your characters are not tied to your profile, but are tied to that underlying platform account. So if you had a PSN account with D1 or D2 game history on it, then that game history and progress is permanently tied to that PSN account. Bungie does not provide any service to transfer D1 or D2 game progress between platform accounts. So if you created a new PSN account then it will naturally have no game progress on it. If you wish to continue playing the game with the progress you had from the other platform account then you will need to log in with that platform account.
