10 RepliesEdited by True Gravemind: 11/29/2020 5:49:02 AMMight get banned for saying this, but I don't give a -blam!-. The tweet essentially says that the author has brought his own personal bias into the equation on writing Osiris and Saint, so he writes them gay (atleast that is how I interpreted the tweets, he uses some fairly vague language). Keep in mind that these characters were a thing before he started writing. This is horrible writing and for all intents and purposes is a -blam!-ing retcon. PEOPLE DO NOT NEED TO BE IN A RELATIONSHIP TO CARE FOR EACH OTHER BUNGIE. COME ON.

17 RepliesEdited by TheGreenTuxedo: 11/29/2020 1:52:40 AMThis just feels inorganic and unnecessary.

6 RepliesStart off by saying I’m not against the LGBT+ romances, but I was disappointed to hear that they were gay. Mainly because there isn’t a true strong friendship in the game between NPC’s yet. It’s something that this game needs to make it feel alive. The closest thing we have is I guess Petra and Mara? But that seems more like a boss appreciating her employee vibe. Also while it’s great to have LGBT representation shown so naturally, is there any straight romances that have been shown that I’m not aware of? Closest I’ve seen amongst npc is a one night stand between Mara and shaxx

Do we...need straight/gay/other relationships in the game? I have no issue with them being gay but I don’t think this T rated game needs that facet honestly. Maybe focus on fixing actual problems and not whos -blam!-ing eachother
-
31 RepliesI wish D2 had more straight characters instead of all of the relationships being homosexual.
-
The Film Actor's Guild welcomes them with open arms

2 RepliesLike they said. It's always been. Pretty obvious from the get go. People just misinterpreted it and are either phobic or they just 'didn't see it' and or 'don't like it.' Saint and Osiris has decent writing and it was obvious it was bound to be stated. If people don't like it, then they can ignore it or just move on. It is not as big of a deal as everyone is making out to be. They're gay, but if this were a het couple it wouldn't bring so much negativity to the forums. This shouldn't even be a topic on the forums. We should be commenting on and or about game mechanics and gameplay in general. Being angry and sad over gay characters is very dumb and a waste of time. I'm glad Bungie let this be canon. Like, finally. Hope even more between these two gets some focus.

2 RepliesWell...I was gettin’ pretty tired of Bungie shoving all this narrative (gay, straight or just stupid) down my throat, anyway. It does feel unnecessary and inorganic. I don’t need to play it anymore. I’m good.

7 RepliesIs anybody straight in D2?

Lord KielronLone Wolf - old
Meh. Just doesn’t sit right w me. Never got any vibe from either of them to collaborate with the writers perspective. Feels like very close relationships with comrades in arms aren’t in Bungie’s cards. But it’s whatever. Honestly it’s not really important to the story of Destiny so who really gives a f in the end. -
That has nothing to do with the lore of the game and it serves no purpose.

6 RepliesEdited by Dante: 11/28/2020 11:00:54 PMi can understand Osiris cause hes warlock but Saint like come on now thats enough
-
11 RepliesI’m not a lore nerd, but how many characters have a straight relationship highlighted in their story?
-
2 RepliesTrials of Osiris is gay. Saint-14 runs it. He’s gay. Has the name Osiris in the game mode. Osiris is gay. It’s all coming together.
-
3 RepliesWhere are all those "it's brotherly love and nothing else" peeps now?
-
Oh no. I can already feel the r34 flooding in. BUNGIE WHAT HAVE YOU DONE
-
I thought it was described that their relationship was more like a father-son type deal?
-
Na sorry, I don't see it. Good for the writer who implemented it but they seem more like actual brothers! Sons of the speaker. I don't mind when they implement equality but when it feels forced or there isn't any real in game lore that shows it then all a sudden blam! Just my opinion though.

5 RepliesEdited by frankhail306: 11/29/2020 5:18:07 AMI have nothing against his love interest but I just view Osiris and saint as friends/brothers in arms. Doesn't really sit right with me sorry.

3 RepliesThis is Destiny, everyone is gay, doesn't bode well for the species unless they use artificial wombs or insemination and I would be wary of relying on those considering at any time we might need to evacuate the city and leave those things behind.
-
Cool I preferred them being brothers, but hey I'm not gonna make a fuss
-
Thank you LGBTQP community and bung!!e, but so long D2! 🔥🌈🔥

Good for them who gives a shit

Edited by AesirHighblood: 11/29/2020 6:11:20 PMSo I’m cross posting a link to my comment to a similar forum post because typing it all out again would be a pain and I had some interesting points regarding Saint-14 and Osiris. link

3 RepliesI wonder if being gay makes you a stronger light/dark wielder. Maybe it helps you aim and shoot better? No, maybe its the secret to finally getting rid of the taken and hive. *shrugs*
