If Adept weapons are going to exist, buff Exotic weapons
The new sandbox update is looking pretty interesting, but I'm also really worried about how broken they will be. A lot of Legendary guns have been able to out class Exotic guns in the past, but this is on a while in level.
I don't have a problem with them existing, however, make exotic weapons equal to them.
Exotic guns are suppose to be the pinnacle reward and are suppose to be special. But eventually, Adept weapons are going to take that spot light and everybody in their mother is going to try to go flawless for them.
You are already limited to one exotic weapon at a time. I do not see the harm in buffing them to a new level to make them live up to their name. There are many ways to do this without breaking the game. If not, Adept weapons will kill the Crucible.

1 ReplyAdept Weapons wont be a case of “The rich get richer” scenario. We already had that with Lunas Howl and Not Forgotten and look how that turned out. It’s just another carrot on a stick, plus BL will have a new influx of non Trials Weapons.

Adept weapons will be sunset. Exotics can't....yet. If they do that, without the ability to sunset those exotics, we'll be right back where we were two summers ago. Runaway power creep.

2 RepliesMy guy tell me one exotic that puts you through an activity with even the remote difficulty that trials offers to earn. I'll wait Exotics are basically given to players for free. Don't get me wrong they should still be strong, but let's not act like the gear you buy from Xûr or pick up from a season just HAS to be the best on the block. Many blues are and have been just as good as their Legendary counterparts, they just don't have infusion

You cant have the top 5% running around with the top tier weapons. The bottom 95% will stop playing. It throws balance out the window. Be like the NBA making Lebron James baskets count for more than everyone else. They need to balance these guns with very similar guns in GM’s, and they need to do it quick. This isn’t going to drive people into trials, it will just make trials sweatier, as cheating and recovs will be double what they’ve been.

It's going to further break PvP for anyone not able to run Flawless or Trials in general. But hey let's just focus on any ill-judged way to pump up those numbers Bungie.

3 RepliesCorrection, Raid exotics are supposed to be pinnacle reward. I shouldn't have the same power as a world drop exotic compared to a quest/drop from beating a raid. Exotics are fine on their own not being overly powerful and even then we still have some. One of the most slept on exotic atm is vigilance wing and is going to be insane next sandbox update and its a world drop.

2 RepliesThe problem I'm seeing is how quickplay and casual modes will be dominated by those that either cheated their way or are the top 1 or 2% that are pvp tryhards. Theyll get the adept weapons, get the mods, yes I know, I've read it multiple times the stats arent THAT big to make them broken, but itll def help. And those that arent tryhards or arent to good in pvp and wanna just do quickplay or get a quest done will be here complaining that these weapons are op. Either leave those weapons to trials and comp. Or have other adept weapons that are reachable by those that cant go flawless. Or buff some exotics. While I might not have THAT much trouble in pvp, I dont have a team or friends that like to pvp let alone trials. And lfg is just horrendous, so basically I'm opt out of that mode. And that's ok, it's also ok for those ppl to get those weapons if they go flawless legitimately. But if they are better than anything that can compete with them or stand a chance, bet your bottom dollar they gonna be ppl here containing for nerfs, and we will be right back where we started, having another recluse like weapons and so on.

2 RepliesThe only thing I really have to say about this is that the guns are gonna be just as good whether or not they are adept. Stat increases are nice, but not big enough of a deal to matter. Perks are what makes a weapon good in this game, and an adept summoner is still the summoner whether or not it gets 20 extra stat points. The adept ones will only be as good as their legendary equivalents. If it's anything like d1, and it really sounds like it is, the big reason to even equip them is as status symbols. And of course, some exotics will be better than them, just like how some exotics are already better than their regular counterparts. Suros is arguably better than summoner, wardcliff is definitely better than tomorrows answer, etc.

3 RepliesIn D1 adept trials weapons weren't much different than regular ones. Blind Perdition would murder you whether it was adept or not. Burning Eye would murder you whether it was adept or not. Vision Stone would murder you whether it was adept or not. Trials guns SHOULD be the best pvp weapons in the game. If someone wants to troll I'm quickplay with them, that's their right. Is it Bush league? Yes. But it's still their right. Exotics aren't supposed to be OP, they're supposed to be unique, hence the phrase exotic. They should be one of a kind guns with perks found nowhere else, that's it.

1 ReplyI thought we just brought in sunsetting to get powerful and unbalanced pinnacle weapons out of crucible- NOPE - it was just so we could hock the new crappy unbalanced weapons! Btw - it’s not a good idea to give the top 10% of the crucible their own personal powerful unstoppable weapons... If your a casual in the crucible these weapons should be the reason to stop playing...

2 RepliesBungie has said from the beginning, just like you said, that they are supposed to be special. They used unique. They also stated they are not meant to the most powerful thing out there. Some of them are under certain circumstances. Keep in mind at certain points there were some that were crazy powerful and they became undisputed meta with no competition. They all got normalized or nerfed if you prefer that term. This is an old argument that will go nowhere.

4 RepliesAstralith you make some valid points and I agree that eververse needs to be removed from the game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

Vigilance - killer ttk and range Sunshot - meta Malfeasance - spam pop and drop Last Word - spam hipfire Sturm / Drang will be playable Jade Rabbit with high cal Just to name a few (cough, Bastion, cough). And no sunsetting (yet....) Not sure why exotics need more 💕 with auto 600s taking a significant step back and guns like ace and thorn getting noticeably more range.

Honestly with how the sandbox is kinda playing out, exotic weapons are looking better than legendaries tbh. Best 180 HC? Malfeasance with 20 round mag and explosions, easily. Best 140 HC? Either Thorn or Ace. Best 120 HC? Sturm. Best 600 auto? Suros because it breaks the rof rules. Best pulse? Vigilance Wing might now be the best gun in the game. So on and so forth. There are still some guns that need help, but class by class exotics are looking a little bit distanced from their counterparts. Even Guillotine is probably going to get tossed off it's hill of dominance with the nerf and incoming exotic sword.

How does one relate to the other?Exotic weapons don't need a buff relative to adept versions of guns.

Sorry but saying everyone will want to go flawless because of the weapons is exactly what bungie wants. Exotic have a powerful trait but aren't exactly suppose to be better then a legendary in all situations.
