Trials Feeback

So I just went through the rainbow bullet storm that is Trials and went flawless. It took a handful of attempts and way too many ricochet rounds, but I did it. And I think there's a lot of good and bad here. Good: 1. Matchmaking. CBMM followed by win based matchmaking worked really well. Those last few matches were neck and neck. 2. Limited heavy. No heavy spam fests. Lot of primary duels. 3. The armor and weapons look awesome, and the armor can get really high stat rolls. 4. The mechanics behind Trials really brought value to things like rift and barricade. I really liked the subclass variety I personally saw. 5. Narrator is awesome. Gotta love Saint. 6. The passages add a lot of options for the player that allows them to play Trials with their own terms. Bad: 1. Sandbox. I'm going to be very clear here: with the exception of one gun, I think the sandbox is in the best spot it's ever been. Revoker honestly doesn't bother me. The auto rifle with 100 stability, no damage falloff, double damage ricochet rounds, and a 0.7s TTK does. I was being shot at front around corners so much I had to put it on just to shoot back. Just that ONE gun. That really diminished the quality of duels and experience within Trials for me. Nothing else needs adjusting in my opinion. 2. The loot is time gated. Why? Why not have after game drops from the entire Trials loot table based on the progress of your card? More wins = higher drop chance for weapons and armor and higher stat totals on armor. 3. No adepts. While this personally doesn't bother me right now, I can see it as a massive drawback for a lot of players. They want to peacock. If armor drops from the above point, adepts will need to be added. That's honestly it for me. But all in all, I'll be back tomorrow. And the day after. And the weekend after that.

  • Bungie REALLY dropped the ball with the trials loot. My main motivation in destiny is the cool loot, and seeing that the only two interesting trials guns are time gated to next week as well as zero adept weapons (meaning zero incentive to go flawless) -blam!-ing sucks. Imma try for flawless for the emblem but idk about after that
