Cardinal burst out of the sand and instantly died. Cabal patrol found her and her ghost just as she came up. When he resurrected her again, she came out swinging, taking out two before dying again, and then finishing off the rest afterwards. "That wasn't pleasant," were her very first words before pain shot through her skull. Falling to the sand was her ghost, just before a vision flashed through her mind. People reaching out as they fell, water, triangles, a shattering mirror, muddled words. Not muddled, becoming clearer. [i]...You don't need them...[/i] Who was this? These words were like whispers touching her mind. [i]...You have us...[/i] This was when the whispers started. They never ceased, only became easier to bear. When she woke, she was half-buried in sand, her ghost floating above her. "Oh good, you're awake. I thought I'd lost you, just after I'd found you too." Cardinal sat up, rubbing the back of her neck through her thin armor. "What happened?" she asked, looking around. Her ghost just shook its shell side to side. "Well, what now, then?" Cardinal's ghost danced up to her shoulder, looking around. "You saw that vision right? Of the shard? The one underground?" Cardinal nodded. "That was on earth. Old Russia. It's... currently on quarantine, but that doesn't matter if it means we can get our light back." "So how do we get there?" was her next question. Cardinal swore she could see a glint in his little glowing eye. "Leave that to me!"
