People are misunderstanding the sword changes and swords as a whole.

So I don't know why people think the heavy attack was always the way to go for damage. I main these things alot also. Yes the heavy attack was good for dps but the best way to conserve your ammo is to light hit and then use heavy attacks. Energy will now make your heavy attack stronger at it's Max and weaker when it's not. Heavy ammo no longer takes ammo but energy. Combos can be ways to stun lock a boss and stop it from slamming. You don't always have to block the damage, we have so much abilities in this game that can stop or heal the damage we take. Here is a combo example that is optimal, stun locks the boss, and arguably better than repeated heavy hits. Note: these combo only work on when coming in contact with any enemy. If you just swing the air hitting nothing this won't work. Except the aggressive frame So light, light light, jump, air light, air heavy, then uppercut once you hit the ground or continue the combo again. If you have relentless strikes this makes the combo even better because it procs twice I believe if you use the heavy. Still don't get it here is an example https://youtu.be/_L1lA3r9PiQ Lightweight frame: light light light, jump light, and jump heavy after wards then continue the combo. Here is an good example https://youtu.be/WQQ1oFVX9sE Aggressive: just use the ground light hits, it does the most damage. The heavy is only for staggering mobs and so is the air heavy. This is very good change for swords and is not a nerf what so ever. The people who actually use swords will know this. The only concerning thing is how weak the uppercut is when not at Max but with combos shown here then the heavy hit will be fine because combo like these work well with the change. The heavy hit is good for dps, but bad for conserving your ammo and overall dps. They heavy hit can also miss meaning you loss more damage and possibly ammo. https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/cs0kw7/swords_are_actually_insane_for_dps_some_of_them/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app Here is a Reddit post also from the same guy for a more detailed insight. Still not convinced well just go use your rocket or grenade launcher. You wasn't using swords in the first place. Thanks to Mugen_no_ryu for them perfect examples, go like the video if it help.
