Yeah. I know everyone is already making these threads. I'mma make another one anyway. And this one will have a poll cuz why not? What in the world is with these damn Iron Banner quests to turn stuff in? Like, seriously! I like PvP, even Control (I guess I'm in the top 3-6% on Control per Destiny Tracker, not that it means much since that's just Plat--and I'm really bad in every other mode but hey--but what I'm saying is, I play a lot of Crucible). Iron Banner is more interesting by default thanks to the hunt locking mechanic, but then you force the game mode to be full of stupid weapons and be more based around kills than the actual control points? I start losing games left and right when I'm doing these dang things because the only way to progress is to say "screw proper gameplay, I only care about getting these kills with these awkward weapons!". It just gets stressful. Not fun, stressful. This is almost as bad as some of the Gambit quests (I'm looking at you, Malfeasance--and yes, I know Malfeasance's quest is far worse, but it felt equally stressful to me). It's not even that it's necessarily *hard*, it's just a miserable grind. I thought you guys were listening? If there absolutely MUST be a quest, why not display all the prereqs ALL at once so that you can do them simultaneously? Or, I don't know, make them have options? Like shotgun OR melee kills. Special ammo kills rather than "shotgun" or "sniper" or whatever it is. And no heavy, please. If you must do heavy weapon kills, make it like, I don't know, 2-3 kills. At least that way it's not dominating multiple matches of playtime. Haven't we already been asking for modes with no heavy weapon spawns to begin with? As for general quests, I love this game, but it really feels like most of the quests are just shoehorning me into doing overly specific things for an extensive amount of time. I get that it can cause us to branch out, but there's a point where the "branching" basically grows a whole new tree out of the original's trunk. That can't be structurally stable or enjoyable for a large amount of the playerbase, right? Stats are only one side of the coin. Just because everyone does something doesn't mean they like doing it--they just feel like they have to sometimes. Anyway, that's my little rant. I do have to say, I absolutely adore the lore coming out this season outside of IB, props to the team there, but uh... maybe get some new blood in the quest department? Try polling players? Actually give us more extensive loot pools like we've been asking for and stop dropping potato-tier "armor" that is as useful as Ikora as a vendor this season or, like, rocket launchers with tap the trigger on them (yes, I know that one is the season pass). Maybe let us get endgame-worthy stuff from an endgame PvP activity if you are going to make us suffer through boredom?

  • Would be nice if it was heavy weapon kills, instead of RL kills. Or the IB quest being general things you already do. Like kills with primary, secondary and heavy. Getting zones. Maybe the bounties more specific. This way people can complete the quest and cash in their tokens, while grind out for pinnacles, specific weapons. I remember some time ago you could do a specific bounty to unlock a certain item in saladbars inventory. You could buy his stock item or get one randomly from packages for other rolls.
