Breakneck was destroyed.

Breakneck has been utterly devastated in shadowkeep. I know not a lot of people use it and it wasn't crazy good but now it has literally become useless now that it does less damage per rampage stack. Meanwhile recluse was barely nerfed like are you kidding me. Please fix the breakneck. And redrix too while your at it desperado needs to do a slight damage buff at least.

  • I will pass along your feedback on buffing both breakneck and the desperado perk to the dev team. Just to clarify, is your feedback on Recluse that it should be changed or stay in its current form?

    • I get the sense that it was nerfed to make Sweet Business more pronounced. In its prime i felt Breakneck was just a better Sweet business. The hidden FF compensated for the smaller mag. But both basically gave you an SAW bullet hose playstyle, Breakneck just didn't take an exotic slot. If i were to balance the two I'd unnerf breakneck, it is a silly hard grind after all. If Sweet is still not a competitive bullet hose choice with the recent buffs add explosive rounds or dragonfly or rampage to it's existing perks.

      • Just say that the Breakneck and Redrix’s need a buff. You could’ve gotten your point across without mentioning Recluse. The nerfing is getting old

      • Recluse is the carrot they dangle so people play comp. Once most people have it or people give up trying to get it and comp numbers go down they'll nerf recluse and introduce another op weapon in its place and the cycle continues. Of course this is not fact only my opinion based upon the cycle i've been seeing.

          Whisper of the worm Ace of Spades Sleeper Simulant QueenBreakers Bow Graviton Lance Lord of Wolves Prometheus Lens Breakneck Lunas Howl Not Forgotten How many other weapons need to be nerfed out of usefulness and existence before you people are happy? While some ive listed were agreed to be game breaking (Prometheus Lens was still alot of fun and should have been its own game mode lol), most of these weapons are rarely used anymore because people either complained about them because A.) They didnt have them, didnt try to earn them, or didnt want to do the grind... or B.) wanted some other weapon they coveted to be more useable so slash all the other weapons as long as their favorite gun was viable again. Selfish children. Every one of you. Breakneck was a weird one. I will agree that that one did not fit any necessity to nerf. It was strong and most people only used it for PvE but it was not the strongest weapon in the Kinetic slot... Nobody and I mean nobody complained about it. I doubt anyone will ever use sleeper Simulant or Whisper or Queen breakers bow again. They should just remove them from the game at this point. Ace of Spades was fun when you could reload to continue your overpowered shots but it was not an over abused gun. I dont believe people complained about it and I dont see what Bungie saw that would make it game breaking. Sleeper and Queenbreaker were nerfed because of complaints on gambit - a game mode that player complain about 24/7 to begin with. But guess what? DeathBringer, truth, and Leviathans Breath will one shot you across the -blam!-ing map just as easily. Hell, even Mountaintop can one shot you across the map. There are plently of weapons that will one shot you as they should. Now we have weapons taking up vault space that are no longer viable in any -blam!-ing game mode. Remember when Graviton Lance was the meta in the first season? They nerfed it to useless and then slightly redeemed themselves by changing how it deals damage so that it was as effective as any other pulse rifle which still makes it useless. The recluse is not OP. It doesnt hurt anyones feelings. Leave it alone. I can guarantee, The recluse does not beat a Randys throwing knife in a mid to long range combat situation. "Well duh..." exactly, use your weapons for the situation in PVP. you want to beat a recluse player? -blam!-ing shotgun, fusion rifle, super, or keep your distance.... its not difficult. Any smg should beat any other rifle type weapon at close range. You complain that its too easy to kill adds in PvE, Are you guys drinking milk from a baby bottle? Who is being hurt by that? Why should that even bother you? Change your weapon to something else if its "too easy to get kills" For crying out loud. There should be weapons that clear adds super quick. An SMG in close combat should be capable of doing that. You want the gun to be more difficult? Try killing adds at mid to long range where you have to kinda burst fire it. You complainers ruin the game and the experience for everyone else. again, Breakneck should not have been nerfed... that was a bad call on bungies part. Edit: I realized I didnt add nerfed armor or abilities to this. Remember Lunafaction boots? lol, never to be used again.

          • Dude every gun that can have rampage or kill clip was destroyed. Even more reasons to use Recluse either though it was already the most dominate primary in the game.

            • And here I am grinding for the breakneck. It should be for every weapon that was earned from some ridiculous amount of grinding should be left untouched. It could be OP, but that’s the reason why it’s worth the grind. If someone wants that weapon grind it . It just an insult to players to have them grind for a particular weapon just to have it nerf.

                • This post! I tried Breakneck a few days ago. Worthless. It couldn’t kill anything. All that work, and this weapon is rendered absolutely useless. And let’s be perfectly clear, the Gambit weapons are a LOT of grinding. Sure, the Crucible pinnacle weapons are difficult to obtain, but by a measure of skill more than anything really. Breakneck, Hush, 21% Delirium, and Exit Strategy? Just playing grueling.

                  • Yea i agree thats one nerf that made me go HUH? why? no one really uses breakneck why nerf it into the ground the way they did...... i mean it was kinda like a SUPER OP version of suros regime..... and its a legendary..... maybe thats why?

                      • Bungie should either nerf all pinnacle guns as bad as Breakneck and Redrix or just keep the concept of pinnacle guns and make them all top of the class. This pick and choose who gets screwed the most isn't the right way to go about it.

                          Breakneck was really fun to play in general PvE (patrols, playlist strikes, lost sectors...), and mostly only auto rifle which I liked, when it boost its RPM it is nice feel and good adds clearing potential. Now I do not feel that it is that strong and I using different guns. This gun comes from Gambit, but even before SK it was not fun to use it in Gambit. - enemies are tough in Gambit, so it takes long time to kill first, long time to boost RPM. Breakneck without RPM sucks. - you are not alone, but in team, it means that stealed kills by team mates make RPM perk even harder to proceed. Anyway I stop using it often before SK release, not becouse of better alternatives, but becouse of ammo problem. It have reserves as 450 RPM auto rifle, but when perk kicks RPM up, I was running out ammo often as you spray bullets everywhere. I was even running auto rifle reserves and/or primary ammo finder. It needs more ammo, I guess that ammo reservers as for 600 RPM auto rifle will be fair amount.
