• This round was easy for me. I didn't buy Shadowkeep. I'll just play a bit when I feel like it on the free track from now on. I assume Bungie is just going to release a ton of new Eververse stuff and reworked horde modes for the next two seasons.

If bungie spent the time they spent on eververse on actually in game loot we would all have a better game. I can't understand how people think mtx are ok in a full priced game, your getting bent over constantly and just take it. The game would sell more if....wait....it was better game with a decent amount of content each season, eververse takes away from that time.

This has been going on since D2 released, but with Shadow Keep it got 3 times worse than it has ever been. I mean, this forum is even asking for stupid ornaments instead of requesting Bungie to do their job and make actual gear for the game. It's no wonder Bungie is like, OH HELL YEAH!!! These guys are too freaking easy, we don't have to do jack shit to make a decent game. Edit: I found this a little interesting. https://stevivor.com/features/interviews/destiny-2-vendor-refresh-unlikely-as-bungie-looks-forward/

It does make me laugh how people still defend greedy mtx practices and then say "bungie need the money from mtx to keep going" it's complete and utter BS, they make a shit tonne of money.

          • I miss buying a game. And the entire reward was watching the credits at the end. Telling your friends the next day you beat it and all of them going. “Nuh-UH”

          • You don’t have to buy anything from there. It’s that simple. If you want cool emotes or shaders that provide zero actual in-game advantage - that’s your choice. Shouldn’t bother the rest of us. For those who have a couple extra $ and want to spend their money on this game, that’s their choice.

          • Look it’s basic what Bungie should do Destiny should have cosmetics that can be earned in game AND unique cosmetics in the Eververse. What does this mean? Each armor set you complete is an unlocked ornament. Shaders are permanent unlocked and not consumables. Consumable shaders do not encourage customization. Give players greater depth and choice of colors, patterns, and textures that they earn from the smallest to largest of achievements. This includes the ghost. The Eververse will have cosmetics not available through gameplay BUT with enough cosmetics attainable through gameplay players will be satisfied with their options.

          • $20 to get your secondary or third character to 900 light. 😂 😂😂 Imagine being a new light thinking how cool that is only to find out you could have EASILY gotten to 900+ within minutes for free.

            • Honestly if they want to keep it this way they should not add new Eververse items every season. I suggest they make them every other season because there is clearly enough EV content to drip out over two seasons for silver or dust and this will allow them to spend more time making earnable cosmetics in-game tied to activities and not the storefront. Or just making more content in general.

            • Just make Destiny 2 and all of the current expansions into one set price and make play time subscription based. Like say, $10-15 a month to keep playing? With constant subscriptions coming in, this eliminates the need for eververse and encourages more effort on the devs to make the game better.

Brilliant post. I almost ready to but for silver. But Gold Blind for Ace it’s close to 1/3 cost of Shadowkeep Deluxe... toooo much. I would buy if Bungie would reduce cost twice. Current prices looks insane. And you know... i’m very like Warframe and PoE - but cant play this games cuz in my eyes it’s MESS of cosmetic crap and rest “free” part of game and i can’t understand where what. I really worry that D2 going this way...(

                • Yes they really need to change that. We need to create a petition like in Year 1, it worked. It's really bad that players have to fight with the devs because the devs always try to destroy their own game. Micro-transactions are all over the place and the fact that we can't see which items is silver only or can be buy with bright dust at some point is, in fact, illegal in most country. This push us to buy because of the FOMO. Time to do it again, because Bungie only change when there's a scandal: #RemoveEververse

                • I'm so sick of people complaining about Eververse. You're acting like removing Eververse would magically add extra gear to the rest of the game. It wouldn't. It would just remove Eververse cosmetics. The time dedicated to designing the Eververse stuff wouldn't start making extra gear for the rest of the game, it just wouldn't exist. It's only there because it makes money, and as such, it's worth the hours. Eververse gear exists because it pays for itself. That OEM ornament wouldn't be a raid reward, it would just cease to exist. But let's say that extra gear would go into the rest of the game. Let's pretend that that is a reality. Bungie would make less money as a direct result of that. It would make literally no sense for them to do that. Like it or not, they're a company that needs to turn a profit. They're looking out for themselves, not you. You might think this a bad thing, but that's kind of just the way the world works. Nut up about it. You can't be pampered by Bungie anymore than you can by Nike or McDonald's. As for the "shady business practices" behind Eververse, as stated in the Reddit post, who cares? If you're dumb enough to fall for it, that's on you. It doesn't exist because it's cheaper to do, it exists because it works on morons who think they need to own every piece of gear in the shop. It could have been much worse too. It could have been like Fortnite's system, where you'll never know if or when something will come back. It could be like CoD's system, where you have no idea what you'll actually be getting. It could even just be purely Silver based, like it was in D1. The fact that you can earn items from Eververse without paying anything is something that you should be happy about, not something you should be getting pissed off about because it's "part of a scam." But apparently I'm a fanboy or something because I understand how business works. Can't wait for people to get mad about that too.

                  • You can get everything with bright dust, buying silver is optional, they need to generate extra revenue so get over it.

                    • So I understand the objections some people have about the store. The reasonable one's anyway. However, for this game to continue and to receive updates, pay the staff, maintain their equipment etc. There has to be a way to keep a steady income besides the passes and or the expansions when they are one time purchases. I would personally rather they went to a subscription model in different tiers that let them do this and still make cosmetics, expansions and things of the like without the need for the store. I also understand subscription models don't work that well anymore and haven't done spectacular since the 2010 timeframe. People seem to balk at a once a month purchase of say bare minimum 15 a month but kids can talk Mommy and Daddy into spending randomly with no commitments to get them to shut up.

I think the only way to level up should be from Eververse. Also, if you want to change your weapons or armor you should have to use silver or bright dust.

It's disgusting and it makes me sick. Some adult(s) (very much an adult myself, just saying) in an office somewhere gets paid professsionally to cook up the best way to scam kids out of as much money as possible. It's so OBVIOUSLY shady and shameful. I don't know how that person(s) goes home and feels good about what they do. Microtransactions are "ok" if done reasonably. (Sell a few exclusive ornaments/emotes per season) Eververse, as it is now, is a gross scam.

Their store just doesn't bother me, guys. Nothing in this game forces you to buy a damn thing from Tess, period. I've been with Destiny 2 since day one. I didn't spend a single dime there until Shadowkeep was released. The finishers package was the first thing I have bought since 2016 in Destiny 1.
