2 people on the same network

So I started playing destiny 2 on PC the other day. Everything worked fantastic until today my roommate also downloaded the game. No AI or other players show up every planet either of us travel to for about 30 seconds then we get kicked back to orbit. I see from the menu NAT type is strict. I have watched countless port forwarding guides including ones specifically related to destiny 2 and nothing has worked. When we played this on Xbox one when it first released and we had the exact same issue once we moved in together and we just had to eventually give up and stop playing. Every other game worked on Xbox at the time and every other game works on PC now as well. Destiny 2 is the only game I've ever had this issue with. I have opened upnp and tried port forwarding and making rules in the windows firewall for hours and no luck. Why is it only Destiny that does this across multiple platforms. I'm sure it has to do with multiple people using it on the same network as that's the exact time when it stopped working both times. I have tried everything even calling my ISP as a last effort knowing they likely couldn't do anything which of course they couldn't. My internet functions literally perfect elsewhere (175 down, not a bandwidth issue). Me and my roommate played borderlands 3 today as we couldn't play Destiny with our friends and of course it was flawless. Please, please somebody help me. There's no bungie/destiny contact number I can find anywhere.
