We all know the Erentil and other high impact fusion rifles are a little too effective in their current state.
We need to find a solution to make them slight less effective but without actually nerfing how powerful they are because a lot of people might be pretty upset if their favourite gun gets destroyed.
My solution to this is to add a fire rate (rpm) to the guns just like ever other gun in the game. So basically the gun would act completely the same as it does now but it would have a cool down between shots for say half a second or something like that. This would force fusion users to have to hit their shots and get the kill or they get caught with their pants down in an open situations, they would have to use cover a lot more effectively between shots. Just a thought I had after I was facing an Erentil and I had managed to dodge his first shot and I landed a shot with ace but he was able to recharge and shoot again before I could even manage a second shot with ace.

no need for a nerf, if you're a shotgun ape run in a straight line you deserve to get meltet by it. if high impact fusions get a nerf than shotguns need a massive range nerf, mindbenders has more range than a slug shotty

Never mind nerfs, Bungie needs to focus on cheaters such as yourself.

Or don’t round a corner when you hear a fusion spinning up thing is loud. If you can’t hear it would suggest new headphones. #gameawareness

There is no data that shows this is the case. They are fine as are and serve I vital place in the meta allowing a second (fusions to counter shotguns), and third (snipers to counter shotguns and fusions) option for special weapons. It already has a charge time for all shots which is slowdown before every shot that no weapons except bows also has.

Ya about that cool off. They call it a charge up time on fusions. The good news is. They already have that. Erintil also has a pretty slow charge up as well. 900 to 820 depending on your roll.

I mean if I miss my fusion shot I immediately switch to my primary because theres no way I have time to charge it again.

These posts still? I just got hate mail for rocking my Erentil yesterday. Like hello 4 out of the 6 on the enemy team were maining shotty's and i smacked them silly. "Erentil crutch, you're trash" lol get on my level shotty scrubs!

*cough* What you want is called a nerf. *cough* 🤧 Sorry, allergies.

Edited by Truthiness_Inc: 8/28/2019 5:25:13 PMLol reducing the ability to refire would not be a nerf? How is that? If I don't one shot you I'm dead at that point unless I'm rocking weapon swap perks.
DISCLAIMER-despite advocating for nerfs I am a user of the erentil and probably have 5 times the kills with it you do.
I think literally nerfing the damage down to 48 and taking away the backup plan perk would do the trick. Being above 50 damage without damage perks makes it too easy to one shot people at extreme range, and backup plan is clearly an issue since its literally an exotic perk. If it was at 48 damage fire rate masterworks and perks would bring it down to 45 damage. It would be much less reliable at range.

You say we all know but no we dont. I get killed by dust rock blues at ridiculous ranges far more than I do erentil.
