I don’t check destiny tracker much, but yesterday 1.2 million people played yesterday. However, 14.1 million people actually bought destiny 2 so that means something like 12+ million people didn’t play yesterday, which is everyone’s day off and it’s pretty much prime time for gaming so that probably means the 12+ million people have probably quit.
Numbers only go up during DLCs because Bungie are good at marketing and manage to pull loads of people in due to hype.
This is pretty sad considering Destiny is one of my favourite games..

That also counts PVE and PVP seperately. So anyone who did a little bit of both was conunted twice.

Edited by G0lden Hunt3r: 3/24/2019 5:14:34 PM1.2 million played yesterday? That means 100% more people played than last month when someone on the forums said only 500.000 played that day. So the game is coming back to life.
-
Wow 1.2 million players when in taken king it was a estimated 20 million not looking so good these days is it
-
Game sales dont reflect current playerbase, it's like that for majority of every online based game.
-
Oh shit you mean people don’t play the same game every day? No waiiiii

Edited by Paladin: 3/25/2019 12:15:44 AMYeah but a lot of people just buy games and play them for a few hours before moving in to a new one. Less than 50% of PlayStation D2 players have even hit level 20 I do kind of agree though. I do think destiny is losing its player base, but all things considered, it’s not that bad of numbers. Many games have similar player percentages after the game being out for a year and a half (even with updates and DLC)
-
at the very end of y1 destiny there were about 250k people playing, so they're double that.
-
I'm sure it's less than that. I doubt the numbers take into account people who play both pve and pvp.
-
It’s way less than 1.2 million. Destiny tracker counts twice for Gambit one in each category and a significant amount of players play both activities and also get counted twice. The best bet is to use the Destiny tracker PVE number as a rough estimate of total players. If you want to know how many actually played PVP and not PVP plus Gambit you can look at Guardian.gg. Either way the people who think the game is doing fine can’t recognize how bad less than 90+% of your player base not playing the game really is for a game like this.

As some on here have said the real kicker is guess what.....That number you took as being rather low is vastly inflated...
-
Haha, I'd bet my liver that 1.2 million didn't play
-
1.2 million people still play this shit? Na , I don't believe it.
-
To be fair 1.2 million people probably just logged in to see what xur had.
-
I wonder if that number also represents those on D1. I played it some a couple of weeks ago and was surprised as to the number still playing.
-
Don’t care about numbers. I can get on any day play any activity. Have plenty of friends.
-
Dude 12+ million active accounts hasn’t really changed much in a year. Nothing new.

Edited by Smough: 3/24/2019 3:38:59 AMThat’s not how many players have bought the game, that’s just how many users have been online. Either way, I’m sure any game developer would love to have 1.2 million players in a day.
