What's the future of the Crucible?

I love this game. I'm a hardcore Crucible junkie through and through. I'm going on my Unbroken title this season and I'm ecstatic about that. I have some questions that I am sincerely asking. 1) What feedback is Bungie considering in regards to Crucible design for present and future features and investment strategies? 2) Are there plans to invest in the Crucible down the road with more depth? 3) Will the Crucible still be in the game going into D3 or future seasons? (genuine question based on the path I've observed in D1 to D2) 4) Do the development decisions around the Crucible consider the prioritization of rewarding investment of skill, knowledge depth and dedicated learning curves or is a power fantasy the center piece of the future competitive side of Destiny? 5) I can haz recon? I don't want to leave this game, I'll be the last to jump ship. I think I represent my PvP peers more maturely than the stigmas often associated with us "sweaty players" do. However, the lack of attention is starting to wear on me personally. I find myself defending this game more times than I feel it's becoming worth it. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for more attention from the developer side, or at least transparency as to future plans or reasons for decisions. I am more than happy to provide specific feedback on things I think would fulfill what this demographic of Guardian (a diehard PvP fan like myself) enjoys. I do not feel like it's heard by Bungie, prove me wrong.

  • Now I'm not trying to be toxic, I'm just going to say what I've witnessed as a PvE orientated player: After YEARS of Destiny containing Control, it seems that many people read 'Control' as 'Clash'. Less zones = less points on kills = losses, no matter how good people are. Imo, they should just remove Control and have Clash/Rift from D1 as their flagship mode. As a solo player (who also isn't fantastic at crucible) losing a match in Comp removes far too much progress. More often than not your matched against 2/3/4 stacks which instantly puts you at a disadvantage due to lack of communication with your team. And really, who uses Fireteam/Team chat? Nobody I've matched with. And finally, theres the omnipresent issue of weapon overuse. I'm not going to name specific weapons (if they spring to mind for you, I'm probably referring to them) but it feels like playing Crucible sends you (is does me at least) insane: repeating something in the hopes of getting a different result i.e. not getting blasted to hell by the same old supers and weapons. I'd like some real feedback/advice and not the predictable 'git gud' BS people spout on these forums, because I want to enjoy crucible, and I want to stand a chance at getting something like The Recluse (big fan of SMGs so its a shame this is such a painful slog for me).
