Can't login to Destiny 1.

I've been having this issue for a while now. Anytime I go back to D1 to play, I simply can't because I keep getting the canary error code. I have had this issue ever since I first got the game in 2016 on xbox one. The process was was much the same as my current one with D2. I try to login 2 or 3 times and get a canary error. When I try to login again it would work. This is how my D2 experience currently is and used to be how my D1 experience was. Ever since CoO and Warmind, anytime I try to login to D1 I keep getting the canary error and it will not login. Some days I get lucky and after the umpteenth time it will work, but those days are very rare. I've tried hard resetting the console, deleting the game and reinstalling, I've had a new router put in since the start of this issue with no difference being made, I've tried different ethernet cables, etc. Nothing will work. I figured I'd finally ask since it's driving me up a wall. I just don't understand why D2 works after 3 or 4 tries but D1 doesn't and why it's changed since I've first gotten the game.

  • Hi there. CANARY is an error code that can be received when you aren't connected to the Internet. You may want to check that all of your cables are connected correctly. If you are on a wireless connection, a wired connection is recommended to play Destiny.
