Unfortunately, if 7 days have passed since you both linked up for this quest, you're considered veteran players and can't play this quest with each other. You can, however, create a link to send to new players. If you're still within the 7-day time limit, you might need to send the link again, or create a new link. Additionally, you both need to completely log out of Destiny 2 and log back in to fully connect, then go visit Hawthorne in the Tower. Finally, if you or your link are gamesharing Destiny 2 content, you both won't be able to complete this quest until both accounts own Destiny 2: Forsaken.
