The Peacekeepers, a unique way to look at guardians. (Not a fan fic)

We all know of the City Age and the factions wars and how that period has ended. Sorta, but something overlooked is the group who ended it all. The peacekeepers. A group of guardians who saw the war being held within the walls and ended it knowing it was destroy us all if it went on any longer. While it’s never stated fully stated the peacekeepers were the group to bring an end to the faction war resulting in what we have today (The Consensus). It can be implied through the lore pieces of the exotic boots for the Titan, peacekeepers and the grimoire card for D1, Factions. The card states, “In the City's earliest days, various factions vied for the hearts and minds of the refugee masses. Power struggles threatened to shatter an already tenuous existence. The following conflicts, known as the Faction Wars, brought the City to its knees. When the chaos grew intolerable, a gathering of Guardians fought to end the conflict. The new peace brought a new order: the City Consensus and the Speaker ruled together, and the surviving great factions worked through civil channels to pursue their agendas. That order still holds, but as the City reaches out into the frontier, the factions see new opportunities everywhere - and a chance to win over Guardians to their cause.” Meanwhile the peacekeepers boots lore states, “Peacekeepers once patrolled the City before the Red Legion's attack. They were Guardians, but their interest was in protecting our core, our home. Most understood the value in exploration, but the peacekeepers were old guard, born in the aftermath of the Iron Lords. They lived through the Faction Wars; bore witness to what damage internal strife could bring to a fragile society. They vowed to keep the factions in check and stood at the gates as our walls expanded and our city became a home. Now, nothing remains of the order. Yet their legacy delivers a harsh truth: the Last Safe City was never truly safe.” It’s very easy to think that these two groups are one and the same. Something to keep mind is the Factions card was written before Destiny 1’s first expansion “The Dark Below” was even released and the peacekeepers were an exotic introduced into Destiny 2. It’s interesting to think about guardians patrolling the streets in the last city keeping things in check and making sure nothing tears is up from within similar to how the faction wars almost did. I mean we only see the tower and the wall while spotting the last city far below us, but never even entering it. I like to think guardians don’t only act as these god killing machines or species ending people, but as the person who gets your cat down from a tree or takes out fires from a burning building while saving many lives. I believe the peacekeepers show us not only the harsh truth that the city isn’t truly safe, but rather guardians are more than extreme strike forces, but regular people brought back to keep helping us similar to our modern day firefighters and cops. Maybe guardians and people without a ghost aren’t as different as some people think.
