I see that once again clearing the cache on Xbox One is a suggested solution for one of the issues listed in the most recent Known Issues Forum.
Can you please provide me with a technical explanation of how unplugging my console clears out the files stored on a non volatile storage medium?
Also if the files were being stored in volatile storage such as RAM please explain why a simple reboot is not sufficient?
Finally why is this suggestion nowhere to be found on Microsoft's website?

I dont think its necessary to unplug your console to clear the cache. When you hold in the power button for 5 to 8 seconds and it shuts down the power supply also goes through its own reset process.

Its been known to fix a multitude of issues on many games since the consoles launch. I do mine at least once a week and have never had any issues. Are you saying it doesn't work??
