Gambit advice that should be obvious (the gray bar)
The grayish white bar is how many motes a team is currently holding that has yet to be banked. Look at the enemies bar and ensure your team banks to your 25 or 50 threshold (for invasion portal) with a blocker or two included when their gray bar is big. They get blocked, then you invade and make them lose that whole gray bar of motes. I get really pissed when we're close to 25 or 50 and they have a massive gray bar and none of my teammates have the sense to just throw theirs in to even get a quick small or medium blocker and open our portal. That is where you win games. Any time mid game they have a lot they're holding you need to bank to open that portal. It doesn't matter if it's a large blocker or not. Any good enough delay that allows your invader to go in with their bank locked is huge.
Edit: to add to this during an enemies primeval phase don't immediately invade if possible. What until they take off some of its health and waste most of their good initial ammo and then invade and heal it back to 100 percent. Now they likely have less heavy and Super to use on it.

What I've been doing as a solo player, seeing how other teammates take my motes as I'm about to grab them is that I stay by the bank, take the heavy and melt whatever blockers the enemy sends. It's been working very well. Winning more because of that

11 RepliesI said this in a different post: It sucks hearing drifter say you have enough to summon so you with two others bank but you are short 1-3 motes and you see the one asshat with 13-14 trying to get to 15. What makes it worse? The enemy primeval just spawned. What makes that even worse? Invader comes and kills the asshat.

6 RepliesWhat gets me is the mote hoarder who doesn’t kill but runs in front of you scooping up all of the motes...usually Titans, then proceeds to lose 60 motes in a match with 20 kills.

Good post. I’m no expert but these are all great points the bit at the end letting the enemy team shave a bit off their primeval before invading is super good advice. Most of the time though it comes down to weather or not your team knows what it’s doing and sadly a lot don’t. I play solo mostly and can tell within the first few mins weather the team is full of noobs or guys with a good awareness of what needs to be done. Last night I played with me as a Titan and 3 hunters,got to primeval, first hunter golden guns the 2 primeval protectors if that’s what you call them, them the second uses tether, that’s my que to smash him with my blazing hammer and the my super all the while the last hunter uses his blade barrage, boom done and dusted all in about 20-30 seconds all going well. Easy.

It doesn't help that bounties get in the way of that occasionally. One requires 25 smalls, 15(?) mediums, and 10 large blockers. What most people are going to do is try to get it out of the way. What happens because of that is on Bungie and their nonsense bounty requirements.

I use that to troll the other team if the portal is open. Drop 5 motes and go rob some.

I agree one thousand times in a thousand voices. But inevitably- and sadly -we're both gonna have that jackass in our matches that spends the entire match over by the invasion portal and dancing until it's active because they're only there to work on their ace or malfeasance quest. And as soon as that primeval gets spawned, they're gonna jump to the other side to invade whether or not it'll be the right time to. Inevitably, we're going to have 70 motes banked and be waiting on some asshole to get 15 because he has a bounty for it- Or a guy running in and swiping motes when he has 3 and everyone else only needs 1 for a large. But the absolute WORST, my friend, are those that leave their team shorthanded to go *HIDE* at the spawn with 3 or 4 motes (or worse, with zero) while an Invader stomps all over their team that are too busy defending themselves from mobs to be able to withstand an invasion. I can't believe we can't convince these people to want to win- Last night I went on a 3 win streak in Gambit with Randoms. First match: CERBERUS +1 dropped. Third match, A PROSPECTOR (which is actually pretty great for clearing primevals)! BOTH 594: I was PUMPED. Here's the unbelievable part: 2 of the guys in my random fireteam were wearing masks. Instead of that motivating people though, most people I've told have gotten super butthurt and weird about it and turned the conversation into how they don't care about winning it's just about the rewards... a total contradiction.

There’s just people who are -blam!- and don’t know what they’re doing no matter how many times they play. Somehow they pressed the button to get into Gambit and then they just want to run around doing nothing the whole time. They see the portal and think that’s where you bank motes 😂

When there is no cooperation in a co-op competitive game mode, it is no wonder why it is garbage to play. Same as Battlefield large scale game modes. Great for how many people on one server but crap cooperation among the team leads to garbage gameplay.

1 ReplyHad 60 motes banked. The other side summoned their primeval. Our bank was open. Teammate was carrying 15 motes. Got the message that our side had enough motes to summon our primeval. Kept killing until motes were lost. Common sense and basic arithmetic lacking.

O was on one of the worst teams ever.. and I’m terrible in PVP and if I’m first in killing invaders and motors depositors I know my team is bad! Everyone dies with 13 14 motes! WHY? Deposit 5 10!

I really enjoy gambit, but I think I need to team up with my clan a bit more. So much smoother when all are on the same page!

I spawned in to a match against a full team and was alone by the time I spawned in. Every time someone joined they left. By the end I had one other teammate with 5-6 spawning in and insta-quitting. Stay around pussies!

Yup, it’s easy, bank bank bank, 5-10, keep the other team in blockers. Also, when you’re being invaded... HIDE!!... if the try hard seeks you out, drop him.... keep your back to the wall, easy peasy.
