I still don’t understand how after Destiny 1 and now Destiny 2 that you (Bungie) cannot figure out how to make a decent matchmaking system....It really baffles me.
If you’re playing solo Crucible, half of the games you are playing against premades while our team consists of all solo players.... If I am playing with my friends in the premade we play against all solos and mercy them. Neither side is fun to play on. Even in competitive the matchmaking is completely terrible.
So many people have brought up fantastic ideas in the community to implement into the matchmaking system and literally you have come up with the most jacked up system in any multiplayer game I’ve played in recent years.
I will say this... at least in the matchmaking aspect of both Destiny 1 and 2 it has always been consistently garbage. Whereas most of the changes made to the games throughout the years have fixed one thing and broken something else entirely.... so cheers to you hard working folk at Bungie.

Only way to solve this problem is add a filter system. One for current Sandbox and one nerfed version with 5 second ttks (to appease people like op who hate ohks) then a 100% cbmm where you'll never see lag and one 100% sbmm which find 11 people across the globe with your same kd, elo and win rate. Sure you and everyone will be teleporting but at least your not getting pubstomped right? This would stop the forum cry babies since if they don't want ohks, 5 second tkk and 100% sbmm they can wait in orbit for 10 minutes. While someone who likes the Sandbox and hates lag can instantly find a game of people who aren't lagging. It's a win win for everyone.

Disable fireteams in quick play
-
They changes ar damage by 4 percent which turned out to be 0,04 percent instead... They are either that stupid or just doesnt care because of money and how they already got it.
-
They don’t want to.
-
They don’t care they’ve already got your money. They will probably say something near the next big expansion that sounds like it’s gonna fix it so people play it again but it will stay the same.
-
Not enough players to do anything else than trying to find anybody with a decent connection
-
Edited by kellygreen45: 10/18/2018 2:57:06 PMThey can't....because you have two definition of "decent matchmaking" in this community. Some of us (like me) want to play in competitive matches. I like close games, where I face people of my own skill level who test me and push me to get better....but are close enough to my own skill level that I can learn from my mistakes. IOW, I want SBMM. The problem is you have a lot of high-skill players and streamers who rail against SBMM and demand that MM be based on Connection quality. For some of them, this is to reduce long MM times....and/or poor performance due to poor connection quality. But for others, this is just a wish to pub-stomp and appear dominant. Because CBMM serves them up a steady stream of players less skilled than they are....and who cannot give them a competitive match. So they get the crap kicked out of them. These players want to win....but have little interest in actually competing. For most of Destiny 1, Bungie fought to keep SBMM. But---because of the overall poor quality of the product in Y1 of Destiny 2---Bungie finally gave in and removed SBMM. So now you have streamer's stomping players who barely know which end of the controller to point at the console.....and clan teams pub-stomping randoms.

Ya know. I got into a discussion somewhere in this thread where I was defending CBMM vs. SBMM and after playing this game today I've come to the realization that I shouldn't have tried to defend any aspect of the matchmaking for Crucible. It's horrendous. All of it. How can I have a 2+ K/D average over my last 25-50 matches and have lost 10 out of the last 13 (I've lost way more than that total but I'm not going to count them)? Am I supposed to have a 3-10 K/D like people on stacked teams if I want to win? What is up with the way you literally have to do the impossible if you want to progress toward playing with better people? Anywho, I found a video about how matchmaking works that I posted in another thread about the horror that is solo Crucible. I think it explains how it works pretty well so I will post it here too. The core guy that did their halo 2, 3 and reach matchmaking left bungie to stay with ms when they split. Seriously.
-
I’d like to know, why, in a competitive game mode, an I being put into a team with level 20s? It’s competitive.... so make it so you can only play when you hit level 50 and have weapons that give you a fighting chance. I’m playing with people who haven’t even levelled their subclass with blue armour and weapons. Seriously, what’s the deal with that?!
-
Right now since the banner dropped and with the double xp match making is off the charts imbalanced. It's beyond horrible. I was around 60 percent wins now I'm less than 30. I know the moment the game starts it's basically a loss. I just back out and say screw it. Not worth the aggravation.
-
Oh hey would you look at that, two smaller teams. Would be a shame if the game were to put them together against six solo players from all across the world, eh? Holy shit, I'm a patient dude but this game and its matchmaking is getting to me. I get that so many perks and factors are hard to balance but some of bungie's actual design decisions forego common sense and reason entirely.

Cuz most people arnt good
-
Because of their super complicated hybrid p2p servers period.
-
I think they have a mixture of matchmaking systems. Playing IB the other day and matchmaking felt good for like 4 or 6 games straight, was winning and losing, then something switched, got that bs "we are breaking up those team" message. Then I was getting was full clan teams back to back to back...lose lose lose lose lose. Same with Gambit and comp. Starting to become a real drag playing D2.
-
Man I wish I saw what you were complaining about. I still have yet to play a god tier 4 stack while my team is all solos. This is in comp and yes I’ve faced 4 stacks as all solos but all the games have always been considerably close.
-
Because sweats never want to fight anyone their own skill. Thus, matchmaking doesn’t consider skill in any playlist except for competitive (which is very light).
-
IB was a perfect example of that, the MM is sooooo bad,in all game modes is a lag/try hard festival the last two weeks is getting boring. I'm OK to see try hard in comp even in IB,but I qp?!!?they have implemented sbmm in everything no matter the game mode or the connection so now we have try hard games oooor try hard games with lag ..
-
Their match making is shit
-
I just played about 15 matches and half of those were join in progress with no chance at winning. I dont understand how after 5 years this is still a thing.
-
I feel that in quickplay at least, playing as a solo is usually ok unless you play a team of 6 of very good players. If they are average it’s easy to beat them. On another note though, for some reason that I don’t understand is that iron banner clearly still has skill based matchmaking. I play every, single iron banner match, solo or team, against teams using Luna’s or all the solos using Luna’s. It’s just not fun to have to sweat every match. I hope in the future they do make changes.
-
They make $$$ feeding solos to stacks. Solo players are trash in Bungie eyes --they spend less, buy less dlc, etc. Why do you think they press "clans" so hard.
-
Edited by Yello Wabbit: 10/19/2018 12:49:04 AMIt's simple. Unlocked region with skill based matchmaking most likely results in lag, desync, etc etc Unlocked region without skill based matchmaking and usually no one will have fun because of lag, desyncing issues...not to mention solo players will also have to deal with stacked pre-made teams. Region locks with skill based matchmaking usually results in longer que times. Region locks without skill based matchmaking and most players probably won't have fun solo queing. All these suck...some more than others. Pick your poison. I'm assuming you want solo que only lobbies. It's possible, but with Destiny's player base so low (I wonder how much lower the PvP player count is) I highly doubt it. Lobbies need to get filled or you could be sitting in space for ever lol. A fix? Find a fireteam. Solo players will always get the shaft. Trust me, I run a lot of solo PvP

Edited by Dude Abides 227: 10/18/2018 7:17:49 PMSpeaks for itself.... https://ibb.co/imXTmL Keep in mind this wasn't facing a full team either.

1.) Because they won't get dedicated servers. 2.) Same as reason 1 3.) Cause their cheap and won't do what needs to be done.
-
Might I recommend overwatch? Want a quick match? Play qp. Want a balnced experience where the teams are ACTUALLY balanced? Play competitive. No excuse for destiny.
