Invisibility in gambit

I tried thinking this over and giving it a chance, but I am frustrated past the point of return. Invisibility needs a rework in gambit. At the very least an enemy invader should not be able to see a giant red box above me as I come at them invisible from spectral blades. It takes the best part of that super and throws it out. Crucible doesn't pin a giant display to you while invisible, so it makes no sense for gambit pvp to be any different. For now this is clearly the weakest subclass; a close quarters super that can't even get in close. Arcstrider clearing is an obvious winner and has a better dodge option for gap closing, while knives (or any gunslinger) provide a much better ambush on invaders due to quickness and range. Even within the tree, tether makes just as many orbs and debuffs for your team, as well as being able to stop an invader push from a distance. Love the class, but it just doesnt gel with the current gambit mechanics.

  • Imagine the name of you dissappears for invaders when you go invisible. Now guess whats many hunters and rat king users (easy to trigger with all the ads around) favorite tactic against invaders becomes. Guess what everyone is complaining about if that gets changed. Also, the spectral blades are bad for gambit anyways and casting a super to flank an invader, who might even gets killed by your teamate before you get to him anyway, is also a really bad tactic in gambit. Your'e way better of with arc staff or tether, or you just use your spectral blades as invader yourself, were the invisibility works fine.

    • Here again is a case of learn to play. Not every sub class is designed for every game play purpose. It's designed with certain things in mind. If one was good for everything we wouldn't need but one period. You ever raid with a hunter not using tether. NO! Why because the DPS bonus out weighs any kill factor. So the stealth is good factor everywhere but Gambit. Guessing it wasn't designed for Gambit. You clearly stated other sub classes are better so you resolved your own issue already. The class doesn't need a rework your strategy does. On an opinionated note: Personally I main a Titan. Thunder crash cross maps quickly. Can kill multiple targets. Leaves you in close proximity so grenade launcher wipes easy. No other sub class can close the gap as suddenly and unexpectedly as that one. Once launched a sleeper hasn't even been able to stop me from landing it. Just saying

      • Agreed, 100%. If you spend the resource to become invisible, that should absolutely include your nameplate when being invaded. Absolutely. And yeah, I main titan, so...

      • I say take away all hacks for invaders, but put red arrows on the direction of the enemy team. When a player comes in sight, it displays their name and how many motes they have. To make up for having to be more tactical, increase the invaders time.

      • I have a suggestion. Instead of infinite invader sight and seeing everyone displayed like Subtitles, make the invader sight different. When they invade they see us like using Wishender. It lasts the duration of the invasion but instead of you just being broadcasted the whole time, the map will flash and show where you are every 3 seconds or so.

      • Considering when the invader goes invisible, it wipes away their aura and beaming trail, yes, going invisible as a hunter should wipe away your name tag from the invader's HUD. Literally ruins way of the wraith. Completely pointless to use in gambit unless you are the invader. But it should work both ways.

      • I for one, feel that the Truesight invaders get on invading should expire about 10s after they enter. This would promote a more diverse gambit experience for both invaders/defenders (allowing stealth tactics to work on defence etc). As it is right now, if you aren't using a Sniping weapon, you're not taking full advantage of the wallhacks.

        • Invis is completely useless in any PvP scenario. You’re still easy to spot and you aren’t even removed from radar. It literally does nothing (maybe removing any tracking from Foetracer or One Eyed Mask on you), bogging down the worst subclass in the game. Trapper Orpheus Rig is the only reason to use Nightstalker, and even that got nerfed.

        • They should take indicators off of the team being invaded so the invader has to actually invade

        • I don't even main a hunter and I find it completely idiotic that hunters have a giant red arrow pointing directly at them while they are invisible in Gambit. It's almost like getting shot in the leg by Bungie and then being told to go run a race. You're purposely being handicapped just so your opponent can have it that much easier. I figured out that cloaking doesn't work when I was trying to knock out my weekly on my hunter. I was running from an invader with 15 motes and tried to cloaking to get away while they were shooting at me. Despite me being cloaked the invader was still able to keep up with my exact location, shooting at me the entire time I was running, until my teammate was able to kill him/her. I have to say, I'm so glad so many Destiny players suck at aiming when aim assist is off. I would've been screwed if that invader didn't have sharpshooter skills rivaling those of a storm trooper. Granted, as a Warlock main, I don't mind it so much when I'm the invader since makes my job that much easier. I also find it pretty funny when a hunter doesn't realize that I can see the billboard over his/her head while they're cloaked and try to stealth charge me. No matter how hard you try, you're not going to stealth your way to me because I literally know exactly where you are, where you are going, and where your teammates are at all times... unless you're that one guy who always seems to spot me as I'm invading and snipes me with sleeper the instant I spawn in on your map... before I even get to move or just look around... dick... XD
