No you are not alone. The game feels like work. Ironically the last thing I want to do after a 10-12 hour day is relax by playing Destiny 2, which now feels like a second -blam!-ing job. The grind is excessive and not meant for any but the top 1-2% of players. Good job Bungie, you -blam!-ing morons. Way to kill your IP. How about you actually value the time we play in your game. I predict that this place will be quieter than a tomb when all the other games come out between now and Christmas. The “middle” ground of “casual hardcore” players, like myself, who are tired of the bullshit over 4 years and the lack of Bungie actually listening to the majority of their fan base, will have abandoned this unrewarding, brilliant but horribly flawed game. I was angry that I couldn’t be raid ready the first week it was out, due to the excessive grind and time commitment needed. I know that even as good as my raid team is we were never going to compete for worlds first. The knowledge of the fact the I couldn’t even take part due to the ridiculous grind and short time span just killed my interest in the game. It has barely recovered to a “meh”. Now I am playing this broken mess once a week and it feels, ok? I am in awe of the environments, gunplay and music. As usual top notch. The dreaming city is amazing. However once RDR2 is released on the 26th I am gone. Probably for good, I am not interested in the half-assed fix for MWC’s or Bungie’s ridiculous tinkering with a broken progression system. In catering to the top 1-2% they are going to lose everybody else. The irony is Bungie still think that they released a great DLC. Compared to D2 Vanilla even Superman 64 would have looked like a superior game to start off with. TL;dr. Sorry for the rant, also bored with D2.

You're true Gaurdian Angle! - old

I agree the grind is a bit excessive, but I prefer that over vanilla tbh. Just get rid of MWC from infusion and it's all good by me. (I play 3-8 hours a week)

  • You're just casual bud. Bungie catered to the casuals in vanilla D2 & it went horribly wrong.

  • You really had the temerity to post that? Really? Lol with 0, yes that’s right zero Raid completions in D2 and a grand total of 45 in D1, (less than a tenth of my raid clears in D1😘). And with a clear 1500 hrs less time in both games combined. No, no, no, I am no casual. You’re the casual. At least you gave me a good laugh though when I looked up your stats lolololololol

  • They tried catering to casuals in the vanilla, didn’t work

  • You didn’t even address any of my concerns. Or read my post it appears. In no way did I state, nor do I want a return to D2 Vanilla. However neither do I want this broken mess of progression/infusion/RNG, currently in Forsaken. There is a middle ground which they achieved in D1 which lies much closer to what we have now than D2 Vanilla. If you had spent less time in the crucible and more time playing the PvE endgame content in D1 you would know this.

Buddy, I hit 600 light 3rd week and beat the raid 2nd week, only because I didn’t have a team...I was 560 second week. I grinded pvp after I beat the raid since 1000 voices doesn’t feel like dropping. Not to mention I’m employed and go to medical school. Where’s your excuse?

With all that time you put into D2 instead of a studying in your quest to become a doctor, I honestly hope I never have you as my primary care physician.

  • I have a life as well as a job? Your clearly the no-lifer they are trying to engage. Plus you’ll clear off once you have got what you want and go no-life another game. Also I was talking about D1. Thank -blam!- you’re not my doctor as it appears you can’t -blam!-ing read. Good luck to you passing your exams. 😘

  • Everyone has a life, bottom line is buddy, this game might not be for you if you can’t do basic milestones that show up every week 😉

  • Still not addressing my points. You’ll be -blam!-ed when you get done for malpractice because you can’t read clearly. Good luck playing online video games in jail with no internet 😂

  • You’re an idiot, your point boils down to you whining about not wanting to put time into the game to get higher in level, it’s not that I didn’t read your points, it’s just stupid to address whining over having to work for something....everyone else did it, if it’s that big a deal go play r2d2, no one’s forcing you to play the game or go on the forums, pretty much everyone is collectively telling you the same thing I said, probably means something doesn’t it? 😂

I’m an idiot? Right. Keep projecting. Good luck in life with your inability to be able to read, listen or see anyone else point of view. You must be a delightful person to know. And I see about 4/5 other people, that doesn’t account for everyone who plays the game. You’re a moron defending Bungie’s continued mistakes in D2. You’re as bad as the casuals in D2 Yr1 defending the progression system that caused this backlash and knee jerk reaction from Bungie in Forsaken.

  • The grind is for everyone, it just goes faster for people that can play a lot. Your post makes no sense.

  • Poor thing, whats the big deal with not being raid ready day 1, whats the rush lol its not going anywhere, for the first time ever we actually had to progress our power level to do things, i loved not being able to complete shattered throne first rotation, felt lile i needed to actually out in the work to acheive it. But yeah, why not just make everyone be able to get to 600 with no effort, or bettwr yet, just dont have any power levels and just make everything accesible day 1

I haven’t really played since last Saturday/Sunday. I don’t call just messing about doing a few bounties then getting off on the 9th and 12th really playing. I’ve just started the real grind again today. I’ve been playing Destiny since 4/5 weeks after it released in 2014. The reason I still play it should be apparent to everyone else here on the forums. The best analogy I can come up with is this :- Destiny is like a bipolar girlfriend whose just pure dynamite between the sheets, she’s great to play with but -blam!-ing hard work to live with.

I get what you're saying, but I can see that you have played a few times this week. As recent as 1-3 hours ago. I don't get why people continue playing a game that they supposedly hate.

  • I also love it as well as hate it, and edited my post above to make it clear. I’m actually still playing now.

  • Understood, I'm not trying to be a dick or anything. I'm just interested. Every reply that is agreeing with your post is by someone who has played every day this week. Maybe that's a sign of addiction or something. Doing something you dislike over and over without the ability to stop on your own.
