Nerf Shotguns.
Sup people.
Ill get straight to the point. Shotguns are way too good and too easy to use, which makes crucible pretty boring when 99% of all people are running around with shotguns. Most shotgun users just run at you, knowing good and well they will get the kill. See, this was a problem already in Destiny 1, and in D1 you had alot more stuff that could counter shotguns (The Last Word, waaaay shorter grenade cooldowns etc)
Also gets pretty unfair agaist the other special ammo weapons like Sniper rifles and Fusion rifles, since if you are using a Fusion you have to charge it up, which makes a sound and gives a time q for your opponent so he/she knows when to act/stand down. Also when using a sniper rifle you have a specific small point that you have to hit (the head) to get a one-shot kill, miss the head and u barely damage half their health/miss completely. All while the opponent is shooting at you and is making your aim knock-back like crazy. Shotguns on the other hand, will most of the time kill you in one shot, doesnt matter if they hit you in the head, toe or stomach. Now I know that snipers long range weapons, but you get into equally many short as long range battles. This makes shotguns pretty much the only viable special ammo weapons, since it gives special ammo so much more value that other special ammo weapons, which is pretty stupid. They were already op in D1 with more counters, and this time we basically dont have any counters at all.

Don't listen to these honorless fools. I've done the sidearm thing, there's just so much you can be jumping and dodging before the way-OVERPOWERED shotgun just aims into empty space, pull the trigger and I'm dead no matter the -blam!- I do. I've played the shotgun card. It's too easy and you guys who say you like it as it is, you guys have no skill and you are nothing without your easy route to success and hence you are defensive about it. :) Why they should be nerfed is because it's basically reduced gameplay to just some few working key combinations, no aiming or real tactical gameplay is required.

Shotguns need a range nerf. They should only OSK from super close range. Easy decision the way I see it.

6 RepliesWhen I read the title, I thought I was back playing D1. Look. Shotguns are in a good place right now, like it or not. If you are getting annoyed because you are being killed by them often, then get yourself one with slideshot and join the party. After a dozen or so games of sliding around and smashing people with it, if you're not doing better, then sadly, you suck and you will just have to deal with it.

2 RepliesShotguns punish bad play. Staying is spawn hard scoped will get you killed. Not being aware of your surroundings will get you killed. Taking bad engagements will get you killed. Its not the shotgun thats killing you its your mistakes. Get better and learn to counter. Stop begging bungie to help you, help yourself.

Don’t really agree with the whole skill argument, it’s just the range is ridiculous. Chappy and slug shotties are excused because you actually have to aim, but stuff like Dusk Rock Blues that have MAX RANGE need to be toned down a bit.

there is a lot wrong with the shotguns. the entire pvp is being ruled by the shotguns and they dont take not skill at all. you are all either shotgun whores yourself is the reason why you are backing it up or your not d1 players. if thats the case they need to fix the snipers a little more so snipers can have the chance to kill the shootys. there is always something with bungie i telll you.

4 RepliesHere's a few ideas to counter shotguns: Use a slug round shotgun. Aim for the head. Use a fusion rifle like Shock and Awe that couple's reliable damage with the perk Backup Plan to alleviate charge time. Use SMGs. Use a sidearm. Don't stand in tight corners if you see an enemy approaching. Bait them to come to you and use a grenade. Clean them up. Use your super Use aerial advantage to throw them up. Use a shotgun. If they're OP then why aren't you using them?
