It’s not that we get the same rubbish armour, the point is really why bother ?
There is zero light level advantage and power level means nothing in this game, so really ranking up is simply a number.
I’m not as blind to this typical Bungie artificial play and then trying to draw out play time, so I gave up on the game for the second time and went back to Destiny one. ( which they have also tried so desperately to kill, removing the legacy fireteams).
Just had enough of this franchise now.
There is still something missing from Destiny 2 and until it comes back I’m out.
I also don’t like the way bounties revolve around everything nah thanks I shouldn’t be forced to do bounties to rank up.
The game was trash before and it is still trash now.
(Before anyone says yes there is a point to light level, I know they put in a light level penalty for being under light, I’m talking about being max light, what does that give me other than a number next to my name ?).
When the adds scale with your light level there is absolute no point being max level.

Sorry but that is incorrect...raid, IB, trials (when it comes back) are all power enabled now so I have to disagree that it doesn't matter...blind well is another example

My point is the adds scale with you, I am well aware they have a penalty for being under light and what you mentioned are all activities that would be hard if underlighted. I’m talking about where’s the end game ? If there is no power advantage then all power level is, is a number !

agree that level and light level mean almost nothing for the vast majority of activities in the game due to scaling scaling makes your progression feels worthless

There is a range where you can be above them. I think it’s 50 max. I do agree they scale too much. We need a 150 range easy. 50 out of the now 600 max is ridiculous anyway. Dregs and thrall with a power of 550? Makes no sense.

In the spire raid prestige it’s not even that, they hit you at or around your light so what does power level mean ?

Well for your Warlock and Titan you won’t get the full 50 spread, since they aren’t fifty above the minimum. Only your hunter would, so the enemies would scale up to 455. Keep in mind the percentages. The higher the total max, the smaller the percentage the 50 makes aka the effects lessen. 50 out of 300 makes more of a difference then 50 out of 600. Hence why you won’t feel the difference as much for your Hunter. Like I said, they need to widen the buffer to about 150. It means something just not a whole lot lol

The reason I’m commenting is not due to the current state of my characters. I only played for a day and a half and then gave up on the game. I played it enough to know it hasn’t changed enough for me. D1 is just suck the better game. It’s a shame because D2 could be just as good but Bungie simply just can’t ‘nail it’ they don’t seem to be able to duplicate what they had ? I have no idea if it’s because it’s not the same people that made D1 or just that they simply don’t play and compare their games, but frankly it’s not up to me to correct their issues.

Well you only cited an activity where you couldn’t get the full spread, so you wouldn’t notice it there anyway. Hate to say it but a [i]prestige raid[/i] isn’t meant to be a cakewalk, max LL or not. End game content is meant to be challenging. D2 isn’t 1 and hasn’t been since release. You have Forsaken already so you may as well play it and see how it goes until the next dlc. You already spent the dough, may as well get your moneys worth ya know?

No I couldn’t care less about the money. I’m back on D1 and loving it. I have 12 guardians spread across Xbox and PlayStation and yet I’m not bored of it. I have six guardians on D2 across the same platforms and yet I hava had enough of the game after less than a year giving it up once before and coming back. Right now I’m really struggling to find a reason to come back I simply just don’t like the game anymore.

Unless they changed it with Forsaken, IB doesn’t factored LL in. That was a huge complaint since day one, because that was the whole point of it.

As I said I’m well aware there is a level disadvantage why don’t you read ? But that it does not work in reverse meaning there is a disadvantage to being under light and absolutely none for being over the light of the encounter
