Sleeper Node repeats is ridiculous!
Have to find 40 and 39 will repeat at least 5 times... this is beyond any kind of logical thinking. I simply do not understand who thought this was a good idea. Farm the mats, unlock the nodes, go find them, that is all fine but repeats??? Why just add another layer of frustration on top of an already abysmal experience?

18 RepliesHere is my advice and how I kept my sanity. 1. Use d2checklist.com to find out which node you are missing. 2. Never combine your stems in the same area your remaining node exists. 3. Collect your stems through patrols and public events. Combine as required. Here is the important step: 4. Everytime you get Descent/cavern/warsat.... immediately turn Destiny off. Do it really fast, like immediately. Do not turn Destiny on for 24 hours. I do not claim that this will help you find your last node, but it will help you from going insane from that repetitive dumbass mother-blam!-ing node! Good luck.

There is a tracker now at https://www.d2checklist.com/ so that you don't personally have to keep track of which ones you have/haven't picked up, but, this is still about as frustrating of a grind as I've seen in the game. I've been on 39 for over a month and was on 38 for three weeks before that.

100000% it is genuinely the most shittest grind i've had to do and i still haven't got the sniper or winterwolf. Garbage activity.

18 RepliesWell Bungie is king when it comes to stupid ideas. For example, you can't simply open the chest after beating the lv. 7 boss in EP, nooooo, you have to collect 7 rasputin key fragments, take those fragments to Ana Bray and exchange them for a encrypted cache key. After getting the cache key you then proceed to charged it 7 times by completing levels on EP, THEN and only THEN you can open the chest. OHHH, and don't forget, only once per week.....smh.....

I got to 28 and then quit. The only thing you get for completing them all is an emblem. Not worth the effort IMHO.

I didn't mind farming materials and searching for the Nodes... until I got 13 of them and then someone told me they can duplicate. Completely took the wind out of my sails. Why would I bother engage in an activity that might force me into an endless loop (for Rare gear and some shaders, no less). I don't even know if I'll bother try to get them all before Forsaken.

Fuse the cores when you’re in transit from one planet to another...far more likely to get a unique one. I was stuck forever until I did this by accident and was like “Oh, that’s stupid, but now my OCD has been sated, so whatever.

I feel your pain, I've been stuck at 38 all weekend long and did nothing but that this weekend. I wasted so many hours farming stems and I still don't have but 38. I don't even want to do this anymore.

39/40 I need the Dynamo.Core.Catwalk. I am trapped in a loop between the Mindlab and the Warsat in the Cave. Feels bad man.

1 Replyits a false grind because the game is shallow. its not going to get any better. they are playing catch up, and dont seem to know much about their own game. they don't know what made Destiny great. not a single friend of mine who still plays it occasionally has ever suggested that i come back and do fun things with them. one ever said a month or more ago 'they kinda fixed the game'. that feeling seemed to last a week for them.

I must have done well over 300 and still at 39 of 40, to add insult, sleeper quest required 15 more and yep still at 39 of 40. Added to that the slowed progression, I'm only now high enough for EP and simply don't care. The armour looks like its knocked up from egg boxes and the guns are ones I never use. Shotgun seems the only worthwhile grind but at this point I'll pass.

Because it was given to me through private message, I will not name him here, but... A friendly Guardian sent me a pm with what helped him. He found his remaining one when he left orbit and headed to the tower (while still in orbit). I took that and added my own twist, due to things I have read in these threads. I used my first character I ran through the campaign. I put IKELOS weapons in Energy and Power slots. Used his advice and headed to the Tower from orbit. While in transition, I combined stems 4 times and broke down the first three. The 4th one popped the last one I needed for completion. I don't know if it was simply pure luck, one of the above things or a combination. I just want to send out my thanks to that guardian and if he wants the public acknowledgment he can reply to this. I would also like to apologize if I 'stepped on his toes' by putting this out here. The more info we can gather, the more it might help others. :) Hopefully this can help some of y'all get that last freakin' piece to the puzzle.

1 ReplyThe last node has about a 5% chance. I finished all 40 sleeper nodes a while ago. It's not as bad as many of the things in this game.

"We'll kind of sort of hide the nodes but not really, make you grind for 4 Resonant Stems to make 1 Frequency, and then we'll make it unlock a random node! 40 sounds good! Oh let's do and RNG thing on the nodes and not put them on a knockout list. That'll keep people playing a days worth of content for weeks! That's what the kids want right? It'll be fun!"
