As the title suggests I would love to see them add a node that we can pull other perks from the different paths we are given to create a completely different style of play.
There would be some restrictions but in general say a Nightstalker loves the fact that in PvE they can use a huge tether to lock down adds for your group to take down. However the perk that allows them to generate orbs is locked in the tree that makes the tethers smaller and last not nearly long enough even if you could spam the bow.
With the addition of a customizable node they could pull in both the perks for a bigger tether and generate more orbs for their fire team as well as two more perks from any of the other void subclass paths for a total of 4 like the rest of the paths. The node's perks can be replaced at any time although perks that would change the supers, like the new ones coming up and the ones that change like the Titan's void super, cannot be placed in the node at the same time.
If this were to be implemented it could help alleviate some player frustration as to not being able to customize their class as they see fit while still giving the developers some ways of restricting a combo that would arise and be absolutely broken in terms of game play.
If anyone has thoughts on this please, give a shout out.
Thanks.
Edit: Over 100 likes, holy moley, lets see if we can get some more! Hopefully Bungie will see this thread and at least respond! Keep going guys!

ORRRRRRRRRRR we could just have our d1 subclass trees back.
-
STOP calling that a 'tree'... its more like a twig with 2 leaves on it.
-
Bump, I remember reading all the perks for the subclasses back in early D1 and going 'oooh this perk could be fun with this perk.' Or when ttk came out, trying all different kinds of builds with the new exotics and new subclasses.
-
So, to hell with balance, yeah?
-
You had me at the title.

We're listening. -Bungie

Like many fellows say, there could be a custom branch. Where you could put in whatever perks you want in each ot it's place. (No two super changing perks can be put in....for pvp at least).
-
Let's simplify things, since your wall of text was full of unneeded explanation. Custom subclass tree set-up Bottom - Special Melee Perk Left - Group A Perk Top - Group B Perk Right - Super Perk

Way back when D2 launched there was a similar thread that got a massive number if likes. I'll try to summarize. So each perk in the skill clusters is already labeled I, II, III, or IV. Basically you can select one I, one II, one III, and one IV. This maintains a slight level of balance while still allowing flexibility. Or, an improved/more balanced version of the D1 system.

The competitive, super balanced and future e-sports crucible cant handle that ridiculous level of customization. - Bungie

Of course you have a ton of likes. Most players totally hate this skill tree in D2.

No. Give us 3 more options in terms of 4 perk attunement trees..
-
Really cool idea but unfortunately Bungie doesn’t like listening to their fans.

I think that idiots downvote you :)

Edited by ScrubLord199901: 7/15/2018 11:55:55 AMI'd love to generate 12 orbs with a six shot golden gun that can crit and deal more damage as you crit while your entire team gets full super energy from the orbs you created. I'd say screw nighthawk if I could do that. I also want my tether to generate an orb for each enemy I kill while still keeping the long range and duration. I miss d1 skill tree setups. :'(

I'm in agreement, but also wish to see it expanded. There could be the 4perk block we have, but only be a single set with each node having 3 to 4 options. Additionally, there should be a Class block with selectable nodes to be chosen that would define the Class as a whole and be independent of Subclass chosen. Furthermore, there should be another block that unlocks as you level up your power. This would give meaning to increasing your power and something to work for. In addition, it would add yet another layer to the customization of one's class.

Not like destiny 1 More like borderlands.

Bungie bumped it 100 times to drown out posts about fixing their game. corporate strategy.

There was no depth in the D1 skill trees, literally if you didn’t use the perks that actually “did” something you were under performing. Why on earth would you want that back? For you stale idea of fun? No thanks I’m good with what we have, fundamentally it’s bounds better than D1
-
Guessing you never played D1. D1 skill tree, With more options is How this garbage Should have been from the get go!!
-
-
For pvp, I'd love to replace the lame vortex nova bomb with that cool new roaming super and just wipe the enemy team.
-
That’s actually a really interesting idea...nice compromise between the customization of D1 and the trees of D2. I like it...
