TOKEN SYSTEM SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM ACTIVITY'S LIKE IRON BANNER.

this is horrible, wheres that loot you earn when doing bounties and challenges? in D1 EVERYTING was better except Patrols, like wtf, forsaken looks a step into the right direction but still this token system HAS to go man.   • The token system is not the problem. The amount is. Games need to give more tokens & the packages need to be more balanced. In d1 you had a chance every match to get a IB drop. In D2 you need 20 tokens. It takes 6-8 matches (depending on MM) to get 1 drop worth of tokens. Heavily weighted toward weapons sucks also. I’m upwards of 50 packages and still don’t have a full set of armor for my titan. That is just unacceptable.

    • Token system is better then EXP system, Here’s why: 4 strikes in D1 leveled about 1/24 of the experience bar. 4 strikes in D2 give you a full level. After one level in D1 you’d get 1 Weapon or Armor piece with a chance of a shader, ship, and ghost. After 1 level in D2 you’re guaranteed at least 2 items no matter what it is: Armor, Weapon, Shader, Ship, Ghost, etc. It’s definitely more rewarding in D2 then D1.

        Tokens aren't the problem, it's the rewards we get in exchange for them. The only worthwhile rewards from any non-powerful engrams are: * New armor and/or weapons * Masterworks. New armor and weapons eventually run out, once you've got everything you want. Masterworks rarely ever show up in regular engrams. Since Tokens can't be used to obtain Powerful Engrams, they're basically only useful for increasing Rank with each vendor. [b]Suggested solution:[/b] All "regular" Engram gear is at your power level, not several levels below. If all your gear is the same level, you'll get a piece that is 1 power level higher, up to the hard cap. This allows you to gain power beyons the soft cap from regular Engrams, albeit to a much lesser degree than Powerful Engrams. Furthermore, I suggest that every 10 Ranks in a vendor, the rewarded Engram be Powerful. This means that Tokens are useful in the grind to max power, and in bringing the rest of your gear to that point once you get there.

      • The system needs an overhaul... people arent seeing the problem. The problem with the tokens is that tokens do not feel like rewards.. Turning them in, you get lackluster gear and weapons that are below light level. Its not rewarding, making the tokens feel unrewarding to get. I personally feel the tokens are cheap, kind of like tokens at a kiddy arcade restaurant, where you earn tokens then turn them in for a cheap toy... The rep system in D1 may have been a little harder to grind, but the rewards for earning rep felt rewarding. Doing bounties, felt rewarding. Tokens.. not rewarding.

        • I don't really understand the difference between the token and rep system. It literally just displays the same info differently. The loot for tokens should be more relevant, but I don't understand the hate for tokens vs rep.

          • no rank 3 or rank 5 packages no bounty’s no post game rewards & what do you get bull shit tokens ........ I think that bungie needs to take a hard look at themselves before continuing with this crap

            i want the old iron banner back rank 3 and 5 weapons you can buy or earn at the end of the game rank 3 and 5 armour you can buy or earn at the end of the game lord sad man can still have his set up with the ornaments ship emblem and sparrow for in between rewards

            • Loved IB in D1. The after match loot rolls, hoping for something to help you level up or a good roll gun. Now blues, tokens.....garbage. They took away good things and replaced them with nothing.

              • How are tokens the problem? Adding bounties and challenges sounds nice... but how does that prove tokens are bad? You’ve said nothing to provide a reason [b][i]why[/i][/b] tokens should be removed...

                  • Tokens are literally just a physical embodiment of how we used to get XP but IMO what's BETTER about tokens is I can CHOOSE which character I spend that XP on. Think about it. In D1, any XP I earned on my Hunter STAYED on my Hunter only. But now, any XP (tokens) I gain on my Hunter I can then spend on my Titan or Warlock instead. That's actually an IMPROVEMENT over D1. I have been trashing D2 for a long time now and D2 deserves it, it's still ass overall outside of the Exotic buffs but the token system, it's actually not a problem. Getting ass rewards for your tokens isn't a tokens problem that's just a rewards problem.

                    • Tokens and rep are essentially the same thing, how you people can't see this boggles my mind. The rewards for turning in tokens is boring and static, that is the problem. Tokens are fine, gear needs an overhaul, its as simple as that.

                        • Is it really any different from taking 10 engrams to the Cryptarch at a time and rolling the dice that way? Instead you get to focus on specific vendors and the gear they have.

                        • Yeah, lets just have RNG loot drops, I love doing activities over and over to earn gear but never get the pieces i want or it takes ages, its -blam!-ing amazing!!!!

                        • Why not do something radical like [i]keep[/i] tokens and add the possibility of a legendary drop from completing all the challenges? Saying that...My square button can't take much more dismantling...I got 4-5 legendary pieces and an exotic engram from 5-6 iron banner matches which all became shards. As a side note...capturing zones in control shouldn't be worth any reward...tokens or otherwise - it's like being rewarded with a medal for managing to pee in the actual toilet rather than on the floor or up the walls...

                          • Token system should just be abolished in favor of bounties and reputation. It’s not immersive, and you flip factions way too often with no actual “rank”. It feels so unrewarding and unrealistic. In d1, I actually felt like a well respected and renowned member of the vanguard and dead orbit. In this game, I feel like I’m inconveniencing the vendors by leaving them with thousands of tokens to deal with.
