Fix Mercury! It's a terrible map.

There's nothing to do on Mercury, ever. It is SO BORING how hard it is to make a space fun to play? It's already tiny as hell why slack off even further by not putting anything on the map? *Add 3 more public events into the map at least. *Double the amount of enemies. *Give us more to do in that terrible waste of map! Worst DLC ever. Edit: Let us also use our sparrows!

  • We detest it that much, our clan ain't even doing the flash point Mercury this week, it seems like the dam event takes 30 mins to refresh, and there's only one, there better be more than one on the Reef, and be able to use my Sparrow.

      I just hate we cant use sparrows there. If it were to be changed however, I'd like to see the public event changed into a CoO esk thing.

    • I think they invested most of their time on the strike.. Which I really like. I haven't actually patrolled mercury yet. I haven't even done C.o.O story missions nor played whatever the hell it was they built for that map. It's definitely a map like IO that I give no shits about. But it is better than IO.

            • At the very least, open the forest as an explorable area. -Freely tread deep with harder and harder enemies. Varying forks and choices instead of a linear path. -Make it to past and future mercury with new patrols and events in those zones. -Enter with an "Osirian Key" to unlock arena-like version. Certain points hold darkness zones with unique (and randomized?) boss fights and area specific loot (which could include past, present and future weapons of ours and our enemies). Special loot could drop from both versions with a different set available in the "arena-type".

                  I have a feeling that bungie originally had the AP Content included in the dlcs, but some one told them to cut stuff out and make an AP.....strangely enough....CoD bops3 has some shady ass game passes also🤔 ....wonder whos doing this.

                • My big problems with it are: -No Sparrow access... why? -All the events happen at roughly the same time so you can't attack everything... which also leaves long gaps of nothing to do for a period of time. -Psion captives flee into infinite forest far too quickly and vanish when they are no where near the threshold. They shouldn't de-spawn until they reach the doorway. Also, why do they flee [u]INTO[/u] the Vex controlled realm? It's suicide for them... -Infinite Forest is tragically under used... but the sole focus of strikes and adventures. Kinda Sucks, I'd love to just wander through simulated past and futures... for scholarly pursuits of course(READ: MAYHEM)

                • I leave immediately for anything that takes me to mercury. I hate everything about that planet, from no sparrow, to nothing to do, to a totally wasted feature in the infinite forest. It could have been SOOOOO much better.

                • To be honest with you I doubt anything more will be done with this map except to use it as a “lessons learned of what bad space looks like”. I hope they use these learnings as they move on in creating future maps. Learnings such as: 1. Sparrows should always be enabled in Public Spaces. 2. Planets should have multiple Public events (not one every 20 to 30 minutes) and Lost Sectors. 3. Essentially flat planes do not make great maps 4. If you expect to have 9 to 12 people in a space at once give them things to do such that they are not all team shooting the same Cabal or Vex and then spending the next minute wandering around trying to find the next one. 5. It is not always fun to shoot into glare. Other than these learnings I doubt that Bungie wants to do a lot more with this map. Enabling Sparrows would be nice but it is obvious that they intend this space to be part of the “Tree of Probabilities” Strike which they want you to fight through and not skip by on a Sparrow. For this reason they probably can not enable the Sparrows on Mercury. This map has passed the point of making the decision to “fish” (make improvements) or “cut bait” (cut your losses and move on to the next thing). It is obvious to me that they cut bait a long time ago on this DLC.

                    Make Infinite Forest into Greater Rift style area. I say this a lot knowing it will never happen but it makes me feel slightly better knowing I tried a bunch of times.

                    There is so much potential with the infinite forest, so here what I would do: •Ability to ride sparrows •Make the infinite forest a patrol zone, when you go into the infinite forest you would open doors normally to get farther into the forest then at some point there will be three doors you can open, you get to pick one that will lead you to one of the three trees past, present, or future. •Expand the past and future areas or change them so they can both have a public event area and have one or two lost sectors and patrols and unique chests or something to find •Enemies for the patrolling the past will be past vex and enemies for patrolling the future will be future vex •Expand the present area or change it so there can be a vex escalation protocol type of thing and a lost sector and patrols and unique chests or something to find • Put Osiris as a vendor in the infinite forest for simulated strikes, raids, and other simulated activities. it would be a four week rotation each week having 1 raid and 3-4 simulated strikes from destiny 1 By doing this Osiris can actually be a vendor and Mercury would be a bigger patrol zone, more public events for flashpoint, another end game activity to do and mercury will be the place it was meant to be

                  • Open up the infinite forest, add public events, and scale up difficulty per island cleared leading to periodic bosses and powerful gear. Problem solved.

                      Tbh, Mercury is actually quite big. If you count the infinite forest and Strike + Adventure environments, there is plenty of space. And they look stunning. The real problem is the actual patrol area. It is so small...just like Titan. Titan is also a relatively big space but the action in patrol mode only happens on the two rigs even though we have a huge area to the right on the map, the Solarium.
