Many a times a game comes into existence that we all love and adore even inspite of its fallacies and missteps - Destiny 1 was such a game - Even with a horrid first DLC - The Dark Below we did enjoy Crota and the madness that came with House of Wolves and the excellent true beginning with The Taken King which made Destiny 1 the amazing game it is today along with Rise of Iron - it become a superior collection of end game content like no other game in the FPS world. We made headway with the Lore and the Grandmasters of Reddit lore community loved every aspect of the Books of Sorrow and we could see where were heading in terms of making Destiny the game and MMO it wanted to be. Cut to Destiny 2 and the several failures that came with it and another failed DLC even with a substantially sub par raid lair albeit with good mechanics which Bungie has continued to deliver. All this has definitely disheartened me as an avid Destiny fan so much so I resorted to Warframe and saw all things that Bungie fails to do Digital Extremes does so well. In any case - So here comes my actual list of thoughts and disappointing findings on the current DLC - 1. Ana Bray is a badass hunter who is dumbed down by Zavala who has no business being there or even any explanation as to how he got to know Ana was still around. For the most part she should be the only NPC fighting along side us and not Zavala who only talks down to her which was quite disappointing. For a bad ass NPC to be shown such light as a rebel and then to be snubbed by the Vanguard who really didn't need to be there. Why couldn't it just be us two fighting it out? 2. Yet again we are sent on a fool's errand to figure out where Rasputin is hidden and no explanation given per se as to what and how did the Hive get awoken. Its hard to believe the Worm God and Nokris and rest of the creeps were awoken from slumber due to Warsats being dropped by Rasputin and also honestly I was so distracted by Zavala starting the story and being there I was hardly paying attention to the hows and whys of - Why now? Why not when Ghaul came? 3. So the big deal was about this new weapon called the Valkyrie. If that was the case why was Xol not immune to weapon attacks and only could be taken down by Valkyrie attacks? < great point made by fellow guardian - Kapilahuja> I think the current narrative director really needs to think what he is doing to the lore and the story and how it has and will continue to destroy the lore community. Imagine if you would have somehow revealed that Ana Bray was the Exo Stranger --- would that really blow people's mind and/or make people mad = Yes! But still it would have been such an epic surprise! 4. Nokris was disappointing. No premise, nothing, I hope I see his likes in the raid lair because this was utterly disappointing and has NO LORE in game (as of yet that I have found) 5. Once again a DLC with nothing. Pre-DLC launch the game raked in 595 K guardians and 895 K guardians after Launch ---- from the looks of it this first week will decide if this will be worth playing till September - From the looks of it - NO. 6. Its only slightly better than CoO but only because of exotic changes in my opinion and Escalation Protocol. Haven't tried ranked playlists so cannot tell but again thats for everyone. Will need to play raid lair for final verdict.
