So I had a thought in the boredom that has become my days lately. What if Faction Rallies were used as a vessel for bringing out old D1 Exotics? As seen from the previous Faction Rallies from Season 2, Factions have become nothing more than about fashion. The weapons are generally boring so it's all about the Shaders and the sweet sweet Ornaments. The rewards are lacking, severely lacking. So let's change that. Each Faction would put forth an old school Exotic, all comparable to each other and let the community vote with their actions what weapons get brought back. The winning Factions prize would be the only one added to the loot pool. The other 2 get cycled back into the pool for a later Rally. Let's pretend for the inaugural Faction Rally that New Monarchy had Hawkmoon, FWC had The Last Word, and Dead Orbit had Thorn. Suddenly we have a reason to dive back in, Faction Rallies have weight. Spamming each Faction because you'll get the reward no matter what can still be a thing, but if you really want Thorn, you're going to grind for it. If you don't, who knows when it'll be put forth in a Rally again. Next month it might be Bad Juju, Red Death, and SUROS Regime. If a Faction still continues to dominate, Bungie could effectively rig the Rallies by putting more desirable Exotics in the hands of Future War Cult. Thoughts?
