Forced losses

I think by now everyone knows about forced losses. The game isn't literally trying to force you to lose, but when you win a few, the game starts allowing lower skill people on your team as a balancer, which often then causes a loss. Yesterday, i was winning quite a few. So let's see what impact that had on my games today. I used Destiny Tracker. [b]Game 1[/b] Enemy team ELO 5325 My team ELO 4957 Result - Loss [b]Game 2[/b] Enemy team ELO 6572 My team ELO 5314 Result - Loss [b]Game 3[/b] Enemy team ELO 4957 My team ELO 4413 Result - Loss [b]Game 4[/b] Enemy team ELO 4997 My team ELO 5029 Result - Win [b]Game 5[/b] Enemy team ELO 4759 My team ELO 5529 Result - Win [b]Game 6[/b] Enemy team ELO 5056 My team ELO 4399 Result - Loss [b]Game 7[/b] Enemy team ELO 6263 My team ELO 4852 Result - Loss Basically 5 out of 7 games, the enemy team ELO was higher than my team, and i lost those 5 out of 7. This is the system trying to bring things down. Notice in my losses, the enemy team's ELO is typically over 500 higher, and in two cases over 1000 higher. One of my wins we were just 32 higher, and in the other game. In the other win, my team's ELO is much higher, but this is misleading because that game was Supremacy and i have a very very high ELO (>1700) in that gametype only, and this really skewed the stats as the rest of my team were in the 1000-1400 bracket, as were the enemy. Tl;dr - i really -blam!-ing hate forced losses

    Over the last 600 solo que games im.....at 50%..... they better ditch this BS when they start ranked mode.

  • That's EA's patent. Activision is the microtransaction matchmaking one. We need much more data than you have given to determine if anything is fishy. 2/7 is close enough to 3.5/7 for that small of a data set. This is why I prefer ranked matchmaking, not ELO, SBMM or anything like that. Just keep ranking up until you hit the crowd that gives you that 50/50 W/L rate and you stay where you are +/- a level or two when probability comes around (as it always does).

  • You do all realize that if this all a problem you have 2 options. 1- Go to twitter and raise hell with Chris Barret and keep on his ass. Or 2- Don't play crucible. I stopped playing until they fix this. They don't even give 7th columns anymore....I moved onto other games for PVP purposes that actually reward skill over casual handouts. Tweet chris barret and hound his ass about this and if he doesnt answer you know how much they care.....

    • only way to stop this high elo matching is to delete and wipe your vault ! i know at about 1.74kd my matches are worst then yours ! in the span of 3weeks bungie matched me all the time with high elo teams till my kd dropped still pissed at them

      • This is exactly how SBMM works by them. Not balanced teams - they want your win % to be 50 They'll put the worst players on your team so long as your winning games. Which is why many players only search in full teams. Pure CBMM is fair because it's random. This form of SBMM is total garbage and it's been this way since Y2 of D1 Another bungie fail to add to the mountain. Especially embarrassing after they're the ones who made the H3 system

        • ELO is a statistic made up by third party groups. It is in no way an actual stat tracked by the game.

        • I dont know about forced losses but i swear the control mode scoring is rigged in alot of matches. Was in a match tied 70-70 with 1 minute left. My team held 2 zones for the remainder of the match and yet we didnt gain a single point in that time. Meanwhile the other team that held 1 zone for the final minute gained 3 points and won the match. Tell me thats not rigged.

          • They rug matches to force or encourage you to make a pre-made fireteam. It's to push their agenda of "Friendship".

          • Or, maybe, you’re just thinking too far into this and it’s just matchmaking. This “data” doesn’t really show anything, matchmaking isn’t based on ELO so providing your teams ELO means nothing.

            • Every other match...super easy or super hard. As a solo player I absolutely hate this. basically if you aren't team stacking you are fooked. My last 25 games... even....

            • That’s why you log on two times a day win both games and log back out . Rinse and repeat . No sense in playing longer because that loss modifier kicks in you shoot rubber bullets and loose . It’s a sad sad situation

            • This is extremely noticeable when I bother playing iron banner. Usually after two straight wins I always expect a extra lopsided match. Almost a complete steam roll...it's simply a random mess.

            • If you pay attention too, you will notice connection fluctuation in rhythm with how the match is going. For instance, you do well a few matches, then you get put into a match and it is as if your bullets are disappearing and/or the opponents are seeing you on their screen miles ahead of you seeing them. Your team can't seem to catch a break. A minute in and the score is like 7 - 30. A little longer and its like 7 - 40. Then, like the flip of a switch, you are suddenly able to start getting kills easily. Going on streaks, etc. Bullets feel accurate, headshots feel right. Rockets are actually doing damage. The match will usually end with you losing, but with about a 10 point disparity so it looked like a close match despite the fact that you got obliterated in the first 3/4. This is the primary reason I can't stand Crucible anymore. Connections determine the outcomes of most matches and nothing else.

              • also... Remember how easy it was to manipulate matchmaking in SRL? People figured out that if you went all out every match you'd have trouble getting wins needed for the quest because you'd be up against even or better competition. However, if you made sure to finish last if you weren't going to win you ended up getting races you could win. For me that sometimes took 3 or 4 lasts in a row before getting a race I'd win easily, but it absolutely worked and was all over Reddit. There was a very fast change in skill of opponents when you did this. I was never going to finish the quests until reading about this on Reddit. They probably have similar logic going on with normal crucible.

                  I think there is something to this. Even in Destiny 1. We would have a full fire team, we would win, win, win, and then eventually just get stomped. Then there would be a losing streak, and just as people were just starting to get pissed, we would match against a team and just destroy them. That kept us playing, because people were starting to talk about playing a different game, then we would win and keep playing. I absolutely believe they have some sort of metric that calculated a team's breaking point, and would give you an easier team to keep playing. It wouldn't surprise me one bit.

                    If that is true, then Crucible behaves like a free to play mobile game. Clash Royale will do this, although the forum fans, devs, and moderators will continue to deny it. Free to play games start to work against you by either adding slight handicaps or matching you against higher strength players. All in the attempt to annoy you enough to buy upgrades/boosts/store content with the mindset that you'll start winning again. You'll have a period of wins and then the game will throw loss after loss after loss at you until a certain cooldown is met or loss/wins balance out. Either way, I'll be playing with my friends from now on.

                  • Its ANOTHER horrible thing about Destiny pvp. I wish another team could get ahold of the IP and play mechanics. The game has everything there to be the best game ever, except people who care about making the best game ever.

                      • You've been here long enough. Do you not recall the post (I think it was Deej, but could've been Cozmo) about them wanting the win/loss to be around 50%? Even though I'm not good at PvP, it irked me a little when the post was made. Why should I be 'forced' into matches with lower quality players just to stomp them and raise my win/loss ratio up some. I can understand why they did it, but I feel that I should be forced to get better with my bad game than be basically given some wins. It completely changed my perspective of PvP when the post was made.
