1 Reply*HELPFUL TIPS* So far these are the not so spoken around the web tips to have your ghost work correctly. After searching through multiple forums, these are the tips that got my ghost working perfectly. 1. Your ghost will only connect to a 2.4ghz WiFi connection. 2. If during setup your ghost cannot see your WiFi connection, it is most likely hidden. you will need to manually input the name and password by choosing "other". *note that the webpage you input this info may be broken. do not worry about the security tab, its broken and doesn't matter. just put in your WiFi name and password. 3. On that note, you password cant be too long. i don't know the specifics but my previous 13+ long password didn't work. did work for a 9 digit password though. so you may need to change your Wifi password to be within those parameters. 4. I have been told that you need to have your port 8883 open on your WiFi router, some routers given by your ISP already have this port open like Cox or Comcast. This is a tough tip to give because there is a lot of technical things that go along with opening ports. like a whole post dedicated to it. BUT there are some post already online, and worst case scenario you can call your Internet Service Provider and have them walk you through it or have them do it for you. Sorry i can't give more on this. 5. If you hear a "woosh" sound after putting in your info, it doesn't guarantee that its connected. all lights have to flash and you will hear 2-3 whooshes. 6. If your ghost app is playing through the Amazon Echo, your ghost is either A) not activated. So ask Alexa to have ghost activate and then speak the 8 digit number on the back of ghost...or B) you ghost is not actually connected to your WiFi, return to tip 2, 3 and hopefully not 4. 7. Can't confirm this but i put both the echo and ghost on the same WiFi connection (2.4ghz) 8. Follow the directions from both Alexa app and ghost setup exactly. if you bought both together, setup Alexa first, then get your ghost connected. I hope this helps more peeps. but these should be all the issues that you may run into. if anyone else has more to add just reply to the post to help more guardians out!

I know this is old but mine wouldn't work either if it was plugged into the xbox instead of a wall outlet with the power adapter included. The xbox USB port has enough power to light up the lights but not much else. When I plugged it back into the wall outlet it immediately worked after setup.

3 RepliesMy Ghost Speaker shows up, but once I connect to it's wifi nothing happens (it's showing up as 192.168.0.2 and not 192.168.0.1)... so I can't connect it to my wifi network which means Alexa can't find it. Am I missing something? Is anyone able to post pictures as to what is SUPPOSED to happen? I've tried to do this on both my iPhone and my MacBook Pro. The Ghost Skill works fine through my Echo Dot btw.

3 RepliesGot mine set up at home yesterday and all went according to plan. Decided it would look better in my office and now i can't get it to work. When i try to connect it to wifi, i get ghost_myserialnumber instead of ghost_companion. I can connect to that and go to its IP and select the new wifi and enter the password. I get the whoosh and the lights come on, it says it is connected to my network, but the lights don't go off. When i tell alexa to activate it and read the serial number, i get the greeting from the dot instead of the ghost. Per suggestion, when the lights don't go off after connecting to wifi, I have tried sliding the reset button 1 time, 3 times, and 10 times and repeated the process at least a dozen times now. Anybody have any other suggestions? My 8883 port is open also.

3 RepliesEdited by Old_Soul3: 12/20/2017 9:28:02 PMmake sure you have an echo or dot near the ghost shell. it is only a speaker with no mic. i had to switch mode 10x to factory reset and start it over. i also uninstalled the app on phone and just reinstalled everything when the steps prompted me. once you get to the shell activation, speak into the dot and say "Alexa, tell ghost to activate." the ghost's lights and should turn on briefly and off with just a red light illuminated. Speak into the dot or echo again and say "alexa, ask ghost my clan summary." The Ghost shell at this time should wake up and the ghost voice will tell you while the lights blink.

19 RepliesI am also having problems getting mine set up. I was able to get it connected to wifi, but when I asked Alexa to activate it, and I read the serial number to it, the Ghost just sits there with 4 solid white lights and 1 red one. I chatted with Activision support, but they were useless. I now stare at a $90 paperweight and am considering returning it. It is obvious that Activision was not ready to support this, and they couldn't even tell me how to factory reset the device.

1 ReplyIt looks like the Ghost can't handle very large passwords. The ghost connects at 2.4GHz and if your password is too long, it won't connect to the network. I had to create a special guest network just for my ghost to work. I hope this helps folks with their issues.
