Stop Destiny 2 and make new content for Destiny 1.
Stop Destiny 2 and make new content for Destiny 1, that is all I really need to say. I don't remember a game sequel to be as bad and boring as Destiny 2 is. Good luck to sell Destiny 3! I cross my fingers that BioWare get's Anthem right.

But I have done everything in D1, its done and dusted, it has a fork stuck in it. I want new stuff, new experiences, new challenges. I like D2, its a good game, no D1 for sure but it will get there. I'm a patient person and D2 is already improving. Unfortunately Anthem seems to be heading down the pan.

Anthem will follow in the footsteps of what has been tried and successful. EA will probably scale back on the intrusiveness of paid lootboxes, and base Anthem will probably have 20% more content than vanilla Destiny.

How bout they merge them together. i have a hard time going back to D1 after playing D2 at 4k. I love d1 but the pvp is bad and I have everything. Even if I play D1 there is nothing for me to try and get.

16 RepliesYes please! But make endgame gear the best gear available in the game and make it ONLY come from endgame content. Make raiding and running the nightfalls regularly worthwhile. Seriously, endgame content hasn't been worthwhile in D1 since Y1.

They will make big upheavals like WoW did with cataclysm, but not outright seauels. The whole point is to keep your player base in one place and keep a coherent community. D2 was the worst thing they could've done. And here I was hoping that them working with blizzard would mean improvements in the mmo direction... -_- I'd like to see them somehow manage to merge the two into a proper mmo, using Destiny as it's base. I don't like the look of d2, or the way it feels all nerfed and soft. I totally realize this would be rediculously hard and painstaking, but I really do think it would be worth it. Having Destiny back in all its glory, with all out old gear available, and having the D2 content reworked as a story expansion, with that gear also available. That said, I'm not really sure I trust bungie at all to do such an undertaking and not botch it up royally. :/ Tl;dr: I'm with you, man. Doing a sequel was a terrible, terrible idea. [b][u]Edit[/u][/b]: I have to add, with EMPHASIS, that I REALLY don't want the current Bungie team going anywhere near Destiny at this point. D2 is more than broken enough, I don't want them breaking the game I still actually love and relish playing when I log in.

3 RepliesDestiny 2 is totally salvageable, but everyone needs to take a -blam!-ing step back. They need to look at the wider scope of the game and get a feel for what it needs to be fun, to get players sucked into it. Then, they need to give it love and careful and patient attention. Everything feels thrown together in this random-ingredient pot of stew that they're hoping will "taste good" in the end without considering all the stuff they're adding. They have the ability. The question is whether or not they'll do what's necessary and whether or not Activision will keep their slimy hands out of the development process.

Take CoD for example (I think BO3 might be an exception though since they are still releasing stuff for multiplayer despite the other 2 after that). To put it simply, Activision is basically 'Sequel Central' if you know what I mean If they have, which game?

Well, there are 4 huge issues with this game that will not change anytime soon. So, D3 will be a rinse and repeat. It's sad but it's the truth. 1. The higher ups 2. Luke smith 3. Bungie's contact with Activision that they literally can not keep up with 4. This is why D2 is a huge mess. Bungie keeps changing teams creating this game leaving no room for a team to get a feel for the game and contantly chnging things "thinking" they are improving the game. With Luke smith leading it made it that much worse.

Lets all agree that we want an FPS MMO RPG and get on with it. It is Obvious that Destiny 2 is an attempt to revamp interest in the franchise otherwise we would just be sticking with D1. Because this "Lite-MMO" with [u]some[/u] RPG mechanics system they have going is clearly the root of why this game lacks depth. Implement full Open world like Skyrim, WoW, ESO, and recently Warframe. If I can see it I want to be able to go there. I don't want these[b] WARNING 3 2 1[/b] if I try to cross a lake. Give a voice to our character and Implement NPCs that we can converse with and can tell us about the world while at the same time share details about ourselves. I mean [u]We Were Brought Back From The Dead.[/u] This should be an opportunity to explore the world. You know what's great about MMOs? I can invest myself in my character for a decade and grow a history with my character in the world. MMOs are like a second life that we can invest and immerse ourselves into. That's the real problem with doing sequels for a game like this. It gets rid of progress we made with our characters and has us start over again. There goes three years of progress for D1 players. in ESO I have a character that I have been playing for the past 3 years who I have always made progress with and have accumulated hundreds of stories from both in-game content and player interaction. I have a 4 year old account on Warframe. Games like Destiny, ESO, Warframe, WoW, etc. they are about player progression over the years that they are played, and for that reason, it works against that interest to make sequels. You are never going to see a WoW 2. That is what expansions are for, to build upon the groundwork. The creators of the Final Fantasy MMO admitted their mistake and rebuilt that game from the ground up. D2 needs to re-organize itself and integrate D1 into it so then we have substantially more content available. Especially for PC players Side Note: I understand that Bungie needs funds in order to support an MMO. But there are better ways to go about it. Go look at ESO they have a great B2P system with optional subscription.

1 ReplyI would definitely buy that. I think Destiny as a whole needs to get it's identity back, go back to its D1 Yr1 identity, because at the moment it really seems like is a mixture of different ideas that don't co exist together, and it is noticable.
