All my world 'hubs' are empty: No other guardians anywhere? (PC)
Recently bought the base game from the sale on friday and have already hit level 20, 280+ power. HOWEVER, wherever i go, there are literally no other guardians there. Tower is empty, farm is empty, worlds like titan/nessus are empty too which makes soloing public events so friggin' stressful. All my queues for crucible fail and i keep getting solo'd into strikes
As a test i had a friend go as fireteam leader, joined onto him and when he took us to the city etc it was populated. Players were everywhere. I am actually quite stumped.
I have a moderate NAT type. I did some port forwarding as a test and NAT was then set to open but i still had empty places wherever i went so i reset to default and moderate NAT with no change whatsoever.
What could be causing this and is there a fix? I desperately want to be able to play the game to its fullest (co-op with players in strikes, crucible etc).

whats also strange is i have no problems in any other game at all they work perfectly

i have the exact same problem i have to play with a buddy just to do strikes i have sat internet i do not know how to fix latency problem but it is very annoying to have to wait to join in with someone i cant do anything by myself

You often see this issue when you have a high latency, the game wont match you with other players because FPS dont tolerate lag. Unless you can fix your latency your only option is to join a clan and make a few friends that you can join to play crucible etc. its unfortunate but its managable if you can get people to play with regularly.
