What battle our guardian originally died in
How long had they been dead for?
What made him/her so special that the ghost was happy to have "finally found us"
Having a story mission that answered those questions about our guardians past would be awesome
-
May, be answered at the end of the game, since our character doesn't remember what happened before...since maybe when the current bad guys are actually dealt with our memories are unlocked... Until the next traveler arrives...and shit goes to hell again; or repeats, and we wake up, and begin again with us being woken up by the ghosts. Hopefully, a mixture of both, inception style.

War of 1812. The rusted out junk heaps came later.
-
We died when we couldn't get to the exodus before the darkness, uh... We don't have any idea what it does.
story my ass
-
For fun I wrote down my Warlock's backstory. ☕😎
-
It would be cool, but I doubt Bungie would do it. Heh!
What battle our guardian originally died in
Our Guardian might not have died in battle, all we know is that they died prematurely since they are a young adult.
How long had they been dead for?
Wish we knew. There’s a small chance we died during the Collapse just outside the Cosmodrome (if you’re a D1 player) while either trying to get on a colony ship or guarding the ships. But we could have died anytime before or after then too
What made him/her so special that the ghost was happy to have "finally found us"
Every Ghost is meant to find a specific Guardian, although it’s been proven that they can pair with someone who wasn’t meant to be their matching pair. Our Ghost was as happy to have finally found his companion as any other Ghost would be
Having a story mission that answered those questions about our guardians past would be awesome
Yes it would, but we know Bungie won’t do this. In the Age of Triumph of D1 Bungie actually included Ghost dialogue that commented on how our Guardian remembered absolutely nothing from their past life. We know that’s unusual because we had several flavor texts describing how most Guardians got snippets of memories over years of visions and encounters

Someone else buy out destiny, and bring back original( not greedy team) ; and do destiny right

Joe Staten knows.
I stand here now and now and now many times, this view, this ground... This is where I always choose to stand. I put my feet where I put my feet before and where I will again and I look at the sky. Great things moving, rendered small with distance, lesser things not moving, watching me. I always stand here, resolute. Then fall back to that point, there, where everything shatters... (The sky isn't special here, certainly no better than any other sky, but it's the view I know best.) The silent avalanche begins. Rock and dust. Falling chaos. Machines, as a rule, hate chaos. Our enemies outflank us from below, above, left, right, before, beyond. The Traveler - shattering. There are always the dead. Their names shift. Sometimes I think I see myself among the dead. But I am resolute.
That comes with Destiny 3, "The Search For More Money".
-
...but it is your character and your own backstory, not Bungie's. Whatever story you want to have for that character, that is it.
-
So imagine searching around the Earth maybe the system, more than a century passes by, you stumble upon him or her, ofc you'll be happy cause you found who you were meant to be linked with even though Ghost wanted to rez the Guardian (possibly Master Chief) instead

Edited by GRUMPY GEEEZER: 11/26/2017 7:59:19 AMWaiting in line to get into the cosmosdrome where you were resurrected. You were not a hero, just unlucky while fleeing the darkness or fallen.

Edited by Filthy Casual: 11/26/2017 4:04:20 AMI used to be a human like you, but then I took an arrow to...
the throat. Why? What did you expect me to say?
Obviously we all died of starvation while waiting in line outside the city.
-
D3 will cover all that since they will introduce the Darkness
-
But it would have to be perma death on long (and I do mean that...crazy laugh) story missions. Mwahahahahga..ga..(long deep gurgle, spit, spitoon ding...long stare of stfu my dip got stuck)
-
Didn't everyone wake up in Russia? In Post-Soviet Russia, Ghost go TO dead you.
-
Like I said earlier, D3 will be Bungievision’s new CoD
-
That’s what the fanfiction stories in #creations is for
-
We were stuck in traffic.

The game let's us make our own Guardian with a style and personality of our choosing. The Guardian is the avatar of the player, different for everyone who plays Destiny. And you want a set backstory?
-
Edited by virtual agony: 11/22/2017 8:47:25 PMthat's D3, the prequel.
-
i really thought this was going to be a poem
-
Originally, the Exo's story was the one we got, that started in the Cosmodrome. The Human and Awoken characters were supposed to have different locations. Its cool to think about prequel stuff, but I think its supposed to be ambiguous to make the setting feel more mysterious. If we ever saw what actually happened during the collapse, etc. it would take away so much of the imagination.
-
That’d be cool, but it seems they’ve gone the route of leaving our guardians’ pasts deliberately ambiguous. The idea is that it allows us to really be the guardian, and if they characterize the guardian in any way, it’ll kill that immersion. I’m okay with it in the sense of a backstory, but less with how it made us silent characters.

I'd like to see some unannounced world events.
