Bungie needs to move AWAY FROM ACTIVISION.

like, STAT! Too bad they got their grubby hands on Destiny, but I believe in Bungie and feel there will yet be one more amazing franchise from them -- question is, which publisher would best be suited for Bungie?

What they need is a publisher that allows them to have complete creative control over their own IP as long as they don't kill off the main character of their story (not an issue for Destiny). The most frustrating thing about what I just said is that they had an arrangement like that with Microsoft. The Big M didn't want to get in Bungie's way. They knew Bungie was brilliant, and all they could do was slow them down by giving them too many rules. So, they let them do pretty much whatever they wanted to do (which resulted in Reach, a good game that had way too many flaws). But, Bungie thought the grass was greener on the other side, so they left the comfort of a company that loved and supported their work to find something else. They found that something else in Activision. They found a company that doesn't respect them at all. They found a company that is only out to milk them for every penny they can provide them. They found a company who forces them to exploit their fans. I grant you that being an in house publisher for the number 2 console maker means that your work won't be played by as many people as an independent studio. But at least your work will be pure. It won't be a money grab. It probably won't suck. Too bad. Bungie got greedy, and they lost.

    • Im not sure you know what a publisher does.... They just host the game, which gave them access to the PC market via battlenet...which has a huge playerbase. Id prefer they use steam but either way the publisher does not dictate to the developer how to make the game. Think the worst thing a publisher can do is hold a developer to a launch deadline, resulting in a buggy mess....which didnt happen with this game....well mostly.

      • Unless they buy out the contract, or can even buy out the contract, Bungie is obligated to create D3 and D4 before they are clear. But they really need to go somewhere else.

        • No publisher is suited for a gaming company simply because publishers dont actually care about the game, just the money it generates. If I had to give one though, I'd say take 2. I dont know if the devs just have a lot more sway in how stuff is handled there or take 2 just realises 2 things generate great profit. 1) Excellent games, not rushed games and 2) Microtransactions/DLC that is not necassary, but for people who enjoy the games worth it. I'd assume destiny would have dlc rather then microtransactions, similar to borderlands, simply because a microtransactions system like gta online wouldnt work with how destiny is. I'd like to see bungie take the projekt red (yeah, I think thats how its spelt, not project) appoach and self publish......they have so much potential, all they need is the time to show it off and do what they want with the games rather then having a 3rd party sit on the side, dammand stupid things then take the profit and hide in the shadow while the devs are flammed

        • My best bet would be Insomniac, just look at the quality of their titles: Sunset Overdrive Ratchet and lank Resistance Spiderman ( upcoming game)

        • Bungie and Capcom. Yes it might sound corny but when I played resident evil 7, I felt a rebirth in the resident evil saga. So yeah Bungie try this team up and u got ur selves a Franchise with a rich cinematic story and making lots of mulla which is an A+ for fans and for u at the same time. Bam mind blown bam rich story of awesomeness bam lots of money that is worth it

What is the negative impact of Bungie being part of Activision, and can you document sources for this impact? That's how you get a real, constructive conversation going instead of just saying something vague based on feelings.
